obama-said-to-consider-adding-unemployment-aid-to-free-trade-agreements

This tells me that they *know* that these "free-trade bills are going to cost us jobs!
Why are we still in Nafta?
When is this dolt going to listen to the American People and not the lawyers and lobbyists in Washington?

All US free trade agreements, since NAFTA at least, have had financial aide to help American workers displaced by the agreement. It is an unavoidable fact that some people will lose their jobs under free trade agreements. That does not mean the US as a whole does not prosper.

Well if you aren't in the upper ten percent or so of income you lost. How is that a gain ? Ninety percent of the people lose and ten percent win and you call that prospering as a whole ? A whole what ?

T^T

Take corn and Nafta for example. Since corn grown in the US can now be sold in Mexico demand for corn has increased which greatly benefits smal corn farmers like my cousin in Alabama. The economy cannot become stagnant, jobs have to be created and jobs have to be destroyed. The trick is to protect US wages and working conditions against companies, like GM, which are so anti worker that they move their production out of the country despite getting lower quality and higher expenses.

Leave it to Ken to find the one guy who benefited from free trade in the whole country. LOL

And how many lawyers and lobbyists are going to lose their jobs due to "free trade?"
It always seems to be the working people who lose out.
