"THE FACTS are that none of those things happened in the past in any measurable way." Indeed, that is true because of the many other things that - "ruin the job market, increase inflation, and increase unemployment. " There should be no reason for a minimum wage. If there were enough jobs the market would command higher wages becasue otherwise people would take better paying jobs. People with real marketable skills do that. Is there a minmum wage for doctors for example ? A minimum wage for network analysts, engineers or architects ? There does seem to be a minimum wage for politicians though. The fact is, in a city of say one million if 900,000 of them could replace you, don't buy that yacht. Now if only 100 people can replace you, you set your own minimum wage. I did for the last few decades. They didn't tell me what they were going to pay me, I told them. Know why ? The number of such jobs versus the number of people who can do them. Outsourcing creates an even worse buyer's market than the overpopulation. And it is by design. For those who outsource offshore, the near immediate profits are there, and it tends to morph this country a bit closer to third world standards. Win win. Next they'll be idolized when they finally bring back jobs, but it won't be at the former wage levels. Figure about a third of what they used to be, and with "inflation". Win win win. If I were a greedy nasty MFing traitor, that is EXACTLY what I would do. T^T
