pahunkboy -> RE: the cat pissed on the floor when I was at store. (6/8/2011 6:45:25 AM)

I rubbed her nose in it- yelled and tossed her on the back porch.  She can spend the day there.

Shows once again that you have no concept about how to deal with the animals you have. What a surprise. [8|]

Wow! That's so not the right way to deal with it, that just pisses me off. Hunky was her box clean? Do NOT rub an animals nose in their urine and throw them outside, that will just make her confused and teach her nothing, poor little thing.

pahunkboy -> RE: the cat pissed on the floor when I was at store. (6/8/2011 6:56:06 AM)

I think she did it to mark her territory against the rabbits who live in the yard.

trappedinamuseum -> RE: the cat pissed on the floor when I was at store. (6/8/2011 6:59:14 AM)

I don't think you should be allowed to have pets.

...who the hell wants to live in a piss box.    One more time and she is history.

vixenkneels -> RE: the cat pissed on the floor when I was at store. (6/8/2011 7:04:38 AM)

IF the cats box was clean there is a reason why the floor was used and it usually points to some illness, early stages or advanced. IF the cat is 7 years old or older the chances of chronic kidney disease is enhanced. Punishing a feline in the manner you chose is absurd; the animal has no concept of why it's being punished so much after the fact and your choice of punishment is abusive to the feline's acute senses.

LaTigresse -> RE: the cat pissed on the floor when I was at store. (6/8/2011 7:06:07 AM)

It is a female cat yes?

This is why I will never have female cats. Every single one has been a cunt about treating the house as a litter box regardless of the state of other options.

PA........kitty stew for dinner?

Quig has been the only male cat I've had that is picky about his toilet. Must be spotless and have proper placement. He also prefers to have two, one for shitting and one for pissing. Lately........he's been spending enough time outdoors he doesn't use either.

Yes- a female cat.   She is 2 years old.    The past 3 nights she would not sleep with me- she was too interesting in looking out the window.    My AM routine- is coffee- then I make breakfast- I feed her when I eat.     The bag of cat food is easy to attack.

All day long rabbits, birds, squirrels frolic in the yard.   She has 3 tables to get on to look out the window in the living room.  The cat box is in the kitchen.  A good 25 feet from where she peed- which was at the side door which I seldom use-......  tho it opens to let light in.

To beat the heat- I ran my errands-  with out having coffee.   She is use to me leaving for a few hours at dinner.

GreedyTop -> RE: the cat pissed on the floor when I was at store. (6/8/2011 7:15:26 AM)

I've never had any problems with any cat that has been spayed/neutered.  Even when the box has been more.. occupied.. than usual.

I have had no issues with leaving my furkids alone for 3-4 days, as long as the box is clean prior to me leaving.

I agree with

She is spayed.   ...it was not a drop a pee- it was a puddle of it.

Couple of questions:

Is she getting old?

Did something happen to piss her off or scare her?

Is the litterbox clean?

pam

Hunky.. nobody said anything about the AMOUNT of pee..  just asked you legit questions about her age/health/state of the box/state of mind...

WRONG!!!!

This is NEVER an appropriate way to handle a pet.

If a feline urinates on the floor, as others have said, there could be a emotional but most likely a physical problem!

Get her to a Vet. Diabetes, FLV, FIV, a kidney or bladder infection, more bad crap than you can imagine can cause felines to urinate on the floor. So she is demonstrating symptoms of some sort of problem, you violate her dignity, manhandle and punish her. Hmmm....how'd ya like to come be my subby for a bit....

Seriously PA, I've had cats around my whole life. I only remember one female cat that was not spayed and she was the one that was the least trouble as a house cat. All the other females, and it could have just been weird chance, were terrors. One would spend days outdoors, always in and out at will, and would sneak into the bathroom to shit behind the tub. Another would sneak into closets and piss and shit. Yet another would just do whatever she wanted, whenever she wanted, behind the television on the new carpet.......yeah, she didn't last long...

Solution........find her a new home and let someone else deal with her.

A solution to all your problems!

LAT, I thought male cats were more of a problem.

I am not planning to get rid of her.   But this will not become a habit.   She could have picked hardwood- or carpet to pee on- at least she picked the tile floor.

Phoenixpower -> RE: the cat pissed on the floor when I was at store. (6/8/2011 8:14:36 AM)

You sure it was your cat and not yourself [8|]
