For me, D/s is a form of creative expression. Not performance art, but a more deliberate, imaginative and thrilling way of living in the world. BDSM scenes can be an aspect of that creativity. I understand 'art' as something consciously crafted in order to be beautiful, meaningful and moving; at its best, the D/s lifestyle fits that definition.
Masturbation... is good fun. Enjoy it quite a bit myself. Strictly as a physical activity, I wouldn't call it art. Directed masturbation in the context of a scene or a task-- if there's an application of creativity in the circumstances, be it through gesture or visualization or what have you-- can , I think, be 'art' according to the above definition. It certainly isn't always.
