One kitten is getting farmed out to the new home this week, the other is a Holy Terror who is winning my heart (Which is tough, cuz it's in an cyrogenically sealed container stored in a safety deposit box.)

Me, I'm as ornery as ever-hot weather makes for good curmudgeoning. :-)

I was out and about the other day, and I saw some folks who wanted to talk "privately", and they saw other foreigners on the subway, so they switched from English to Spanish.

You know, I think this has something to do with being introverted, because it happens to me too. I get underestimated all the time by people who don't know me that well. But new acquaintances invariably decide I'm really smart (probably because I'm male).

Anyway, quiet, completative people are significantly rarer and they don't need more than a handful of close relationships each, which means most people haven't experienced us enough to know better. More experienced and more intuitive people generally tend to know what's up.

Happened to me once. I met a potential dominant for dinner. He treated me as if my brain couldn't grasp much. He spoke to me s-l-o-w-l-y and repeated his ideas using very small words. When I'd had enough, I excused myself to go to the restroom and was so stoopid that I 'forgot' my way back to the table. Went outside, found my car (all by myself!) and went home. I often wonder how long he sat there waiting.................[:D]

I went on a date with a Dom from another site. It was going well, and we started chatting about our work. He had a really interesting job with a company maintaining and building boats - a real craftsman. I told him that I was a teacher, and he went a bit quiet.

Conversation dried up a little - he was answering in monosyllables. I asked him if there was a problem, and he replied 'I suppose you think you're smarter than me'? I was taken aback somewhat. I asked what he meant, and he became really angry. He said 'subs should not have more qualifications than their Doms' and then proceeded to tell me that he was going to 'beat my superiority out of me'.

WTF??? All I'd done was say that I was a teacher! Nothing about my qualifications, just my job.

I made my excuses and left, lol

Every relationship I have had has been with an intelligent woman. In every one of those relationships I have urged them to attend university. My reasons for this are mostly selfish...
   A) I believe everybody should have the opportunity to realize their full potential.
   B) Dim witted people bore the shit out of me.
  C) Ignorant or ill-educated people annoy the shit out of me.
  D) Having an intelligent woman chose me makes me look good.

Well if I set my mind to it, I can be anything I want to be [;)] (i.e. submissive of dominant, witty of quiet)

But in fact I'm well educated and learned lots of things during years. Just by watching and reading.
My greatest skill is reading people's bodylanguage.... I just sit quietly in a corner and watch people interact.

Some people think I'm not the smartest then and if so..... I let them.... They don't know me.

I feel that an intelligent, polite articulate sub reflects well on their owner while a coarse, ill mannered ignorant sub reflects badly.

I don't want one that reflects badly.

Some folks aim low and will take what they can get. I dont.

If you are going to be a slave, you had better have something going on, and I find most submissives and slaves do.  As a rule they are those who have a strong personality being both smart and sure of themselves.  I think as a rule it is best if the Master is at worst about as smart i but preferential just a little smarter than his slaves, but only in some things.  I do not really believe a slave could really respect a Master she considered her mental inferior.   Of course intelligence is not really all that simple.   Some are better at the arts, some at science.  Everyone has individual gifts, being intelligent is  more often about how you decide what to do with those gifts. 

I think most Masters (in the M/s or D/s sense) want their property to be everything they can be.  I cant be threatened because a slave of mine is more successful than me, I cant be threatened because a slave can write better, spell better, cook better, earn more money or certainly get more attention than me.  After all she is mine and all she is, is a part of me.  We are a team dealing with the world.  I am the control, the chooser of our path, her focus.
