World leaders have agreed that chunks of the $600 trillion off-exchange derivatives market must be standardised and cleared by the end of 2012 to broaden transparency and curb risk. Researchers at the BIS, a global forum for central bankers, looked at whether the "Group of 14" dealers (G14) that dominate derivatives trading would have enough capital to handle the anticipated surge in trades that will have to be cleared.

Can't pay don't pay.

Think of it, the 1% can live in their ivory towers and we all live in caves. But there will be a problem. Since they took all the money and give none back ever, there will be nothing for them to buy.

I don't mean plasma TVs for their yachts, I mean ANYTHING. And then their money is useless.

Think of the world as a computer, and think of this as a reset button. Notice they don't put those on anymore, but that is beside the point. One day they will have it all almost, and people will have gotten along without it for long enough that the situation will become unmanagable for the motherfuckers.

And at that point, when we shed our lust for their money, they will be renderd powerless. Money is useless if there is nothing for sale.

Think about that, and think also about the fact that it is they who will bring it upon themselves, and as such deserve not one fucking iota of even sympathy from us. I will stand there and watch their children burn, starve, drown, AS THE DID OUR'S.

Get it, got it, good.

of 600 tril,   1% of it would be 6 tril.    and they say they need chunks- which  would be more then 1%.

We paid TARP,  (well signed our homes, jobs, and retirements for it)  and QE2.   Everyone and every state, city, county, school district is broke.    So where is this money to satisfy this debt going to come from?

Hey no big deal. I've got that on me. There just isn't anything I (or society) won't do for struggling billionaires.

I mean nothing new here kinkroids, just the next installment of socialism for the rich.

Oh and as for those world leaders, they had better be careful, if they persist, their life expectancy could...go way down.

You both simply aren't reading the article. Or, as wilbeur pointed out, maybe you don't understand what clearing means.

No, there's no financial obligation for us to pay.

That's true as long as they can clear or settle up by themselves. But if they can't, or if there is systemic risk, they may ask for help, and that means going to the government or the taxpayers again. Systemic risk would be like when AIG couldn't settle the obligations they insured. I think as long as they structure this correctly systemic risk will be avoided.

Fuck the article. When the hammer comes down there will be no services, and that means internet. Learn all you can now.

How fucking dumb do people have to be to not see that they want ALL the money. And to not see that we have not the means to stop them. Well then there is only one thing to do that is logical, don't fight it. In fact we should support it. And people who are doing well unwittingly do, blind to the fact that the strife will come to them as well.

Let it be. Everything really is going according to plan, as much as some may not want to admit it. The few commoners who have gotten anything back from them are dying off, by the time I retire the SS retirement age will probably be 72. So why the fuck should I pay in ? You see, all we have to do is think like they do. Take. Never give.

But we can't take money and we have no money to give. What is our worth then ? Whatever it is, we apply the same principle. Withold what WE have.

You all have no idea how far I have thought this out. This is the ONLY solution. Break ties. Let them take ninety billion dollars to a fucking desert island and see how much good it does them.

And I am true to my name and I say not to let them redeem themselves, but rather to let them die.

No, it's not. Another one who can't read the article.

NONE of that is about using public money. None.

Wrong.  They  "are too big to fail".

World leaders, bankers, chunk of 600 tril,  money needed.

The article isn't about failing. It's about speeding up the clearing process--something that would greatly benefit the economy, as it would clarify some of the existing uncertainties and let everyone get back to investing and producing--and hiring.
