But wouldn't repeated blunt trauma gradually result in noticeable changes to the connective tissue of someone's face like you'd expect from boxing?

I've heard that even sleeping on your face is considered bad for purposes of long-term prettiness.

We're not talking anything like the frequency with which boxers get hit. Boxers also get hit with considerably more force, because you can hit someone a hell of a lot harder with a glove than with a hand.

And 'I've heard' is not a great source for a discussion, T. Living in general is bad for purposes of long-term prettiness.

HW,

I had two (very scary) sessions with a Dom I dubbed The Sadist who tells me he likes to beat men because they can take more than women. His heterosexuality is not in question.

While I enjoy pain, it is very hard for me to watch others receive it, although I know they are SSC, RACK, etc. Social conditioning, I'm sure.

Wanna know what's wierd? I honestly believe that women can take more pain than men.

And when they're five that distinction's not particularly valid, but fact is that a well-built adult man has a lot more muscle mass than an adult woman. Physically women are more delicate in some ways.

I was more talking about our reactions when a male is 'hurt' versus when a female is 'hurt.'

There is the tendency to worry more about the female. This is one of the reasons that males do not go to a doctor or shrink as often. It is all a part of it.

I think that Williams behaviour is fairly normal.

Has anyone else had similar experiences or am I just a sick bastard? [8D]

I'm not touching that with a ten foot pole but I have a little insight in general.  Some sadistic feelings are sado-sexual and some aren't.  For those with a sexual gender preference, I imagine it would extend to their sado-sexual desires.  For those with non-sexual sadistic desires, I could imagine they might not want to hurt the ones they eventually might want to fuck or be neutral about it.

Makes a lot of sense RS.

Has anyone also thought that I might be ritualistically "killing" a rival?

(I know, that is fucking OUT THERE but.........)

LillyBoPeep -> RE: Different genders treated differently. (6/11/2011 4:11:38 AM)

that's any interesting take on it Hill; when i was a newb, i read a post by a masochistic woman who was not at all a sub, and thought of herself as a captured warrior or something like that. her posts stuck with me because, at the time, i was pretty sure masochism and subbiness went together for EVERYONE like they did for me.

a lot of men worry that they're just going to "hurt something" if they do certain things with women, and they don't worry about it so much with men; perhaps because they're also men and they feel more comfortable with their personal experience of what a man might be able to deal with? most men don't know anything about being a woman, so you know... that's reasonable. =p

there are men who struggle from day 1 with "you can't hit girls" theories that they grew up with. some of them overcome them, and some of them don't.

other men just aren't interested in it at all -- i think RS has a pretty good viewpoint on that. all sadism isn't sexual, and if there's somewhere you want to go, it's up to you to pick someone who you think can go there, too. we all function based off our assumptions or schemas formed in our minds from personal experiences, so it's not really that unusual.

i don't know if men can necessarily take more than women. women are pretty good at dealing with a  LOT of pain. but i think there's a difference in that men are often more likely to jump in with both feet, while women are often more likely to be cautious. have an idea of where the line is but no need to get there, vs. "there's the line but who cares!" at least that's what i've observed.

Daddy said he can flog the crap out of either a woman or a man, it doesn't matter. I could take a flogging from either a woman or a man too. Also, I'm wanting to try Topping someone for a change, and it could either be a woman or a man really.

I don't think I could ever imagine watching Master play with another male. I would be so completely turned off and I have a feeling I'd see him a bit different...maybe even a lot different. Sure there wouldn't be any sex involved but the whole idea of him hitting another man would really make me contemplate things in our relationship.
