HeatherMcLeather -> A semi-rhetorical question (6/9/2011 10:42:21 PM)

So, after stating in other threads that i don't get unsolicited mail unrelated to the boards, I got two. One from a Dom and one from a Domme.

Both consisted of one word: "hi"

I responded to both of them with: "Hi, how are you?"

My replies were read (one within a minute of my sending it), and that's it. Nothing further. No reply to me.

Now I find myself wondering why one would send a lame message and then when one gets a polite reply that obviously invites further contact, why would one not take advantage of the invitation and continue communicating?

The only reason I can think of is that they checked out the HLH profile and realized I was involved, but neither appear on the "Who's Viewing Me?" list, so I'm at a bit of a loss to explain it.

Now, from where I've created this post, it should be clear that I'm not really worried about it, more just wondering. So, while sensible replies attempting to answer are welcome, so are foolish ones. So feel free to speculate wildly.

Maybe they were spamming 10,000 hot lookin young ladies with that and hoping for a few nakie pix.

trying to figure out the next pattern from one word to four words. does that mean they should go to 5 words? 7 words, 8 words? maybe start trying to find out the political implications of the emerging pattterns?

Maybe they're thinking about what to say next since being responded to is such a novel experience for them?

Maybe the two will read this thread and start sending you hate mail. Then, perhaps, they'll start threads of their own, complaining about you. And then you could start a thread complaining about their thread, and then back and forth like that. It will escalate into a huge conflict. Lines will be drawn and other posters will start taking sides. Users will be required to designate in their profiles whether they're pro-Heather or anti-Heather. Eventually one of the camps will leave and start their own website, but users from each site will continue to troll the opposition.

They have a masochistic side with a huge humiliation fetish, so were really hoping that you'd be upset that they wrote to you and would pass the cmails on to Hannah...
