Your link is to a far left website that just repeats the same shrill lie without offering any real support for the claim. None that I found, I followed one link that purported to show some evidence that Republicans promise d government jobs or whatever and it went to a totally unrelated "Meet the Press" interview about the Gulf oil spill...

Got anything that isnt pure bullshit?

I am claiming that reality dictates that it is the private sector that creates wealth and that government steals and destroys wealth

There may be some Republicans who are fiscally irresponsible and who dont understand that its a fantasy that "government jobs" help the economy but thats the exact kind of thinking that got us where we are today.

If government jobs and "stimulus spending" (deficit spending) made the country prosper we should be booming right now, like weve never been before

So then, how's that ultimate deficit-reducing cut in billions dollars of subsidies to oil and agro-chem coming along there?  Those guys are just all over it, are they not? Straight-up, honest, mean-what-they say kinda fellahs, no question.

I'm sure that the proposal of more tax cuts to the wealthiest is a mere case of 'math dyslexia,' where they take that as reducing the deficit.

I'm actually not seeing much of the 'focus' alluded to in the above post, but you're welcome to fill us out here.

I could find many left wing articles that asked "how are you going to create jobs?" Which he never really answered, but the point is he did promise it, and he didn't deliver. He just obstructed

Since he is the most powerful republican in the country today, I think his words are the most important. He has been in the position to compromise with the Obama Admin and the Senate, and he has made no headway because he just wanted to obstruct.

Here is the thing, our government is broken, it is obstruction and cronyism all the way, and we are sliding off the cliff

This happened in the first depression, Hoover lost because he wouldn't do anything, and then FDR took over... there was a backlash against the New Deal, such as the SCOTUS repealing New Deal legislation, but then it got on track again, and people were helped.

We need a New Deal

I agree with everything up to the comma.

Their focus has been to take advantage of the situation to push their repeal agenda in pieces.

If they (or anyone else) wants to get serious about addressing the deficit, it will require:
*cutting defense
*adjusting social security (small changes)
*overhauling medicaid/medicare, especially in conjunction with realistic universal health care
*raising some taxes along with spending cuts.

Nothing short of this is going to bring down the deficit.

Borrowing and spending is a short term strategy. But it has long term consequences.

You have taken great pleasure in proving here repeatedly that you cannot understand the meaning of even two words in succession, much less anything resembling fact. How you could conlude that another post has "made my point" would require a bit more elucidation than mere statement of such.


In any case, government spending has certainly put the Koch Bros. and ExxonMobil and Citigroup and a slew of defense contractors in economic heaven, which is what you argue for more of repeatedly, insisting that we take even more from the poor and middle class to increase the Treasury payout to those good honest corporations. So, are you saying that as a complaint or a compliment?

Interestingly enough, with infrastructure and landgrant colleges and waterway improvements and so on, those were fairly sacred founding principles of the Republican party, and that's why I say that other than you and me, I am not to sure that there are any real republicans out here.

Tell that to all those republicans that are going to be running in their districts on those promises that never manifested themselves. And many of those people are on unemployment that is getting ready to run out, if it hasn't already.

I predict loses for the Republicans in the House in 2012... when you are unemployed, or are related to people on unemployment, and the Republicans are standing in your way of a job or an unemployment check, you tend to be a "motivated voter"
