Status: offline 		Over the last few days, the brilliant Jon Voight has been posting some of the most amazing statuses I’ve ever seen on Facebook. Following are the questions he’s asked, and I think I know what all of our answers will be.

“If any other of our presidents
had been so Spanish illiterate as to refer to
"Cinco de Cuatro" in front of the Mexican ambassador
when it was "The 5th of May" (Cinco de Mayo),
and then continue to flub it when he tried again,
wouldn't you have winced in embarrassment?

If any other of our presidents
joined the country of Mexico and sued a
State in the United States to force that State
to continue to allow Illegal Immigration,
would you question his patriotism
and wonder who's side he was on?

If any other of our presidents
had put 87,000 workers out of work
by arbitrarily placing a moratorium on
offshore oil drilling on companies that have
one of the best safety records of any industry
...because one foreign company had an accident,
would you have agreed?

If any other of our presidents
had been the first President to need a
teleprompter installed to be able to get through
a press conference, would you have laughed and said
this is more proof of how inept he is on his own and is
really controlled by smarter men behind the scenes?

If any other of our presidents
had spent hundreds of thousands of Dollars
to take his First Lady to a play in NYC,
would you have approved?

If any other of our presidents
had given the Queen of England an
IPod containing videos of his speeches,
would you have thought it to be a
proud moment for America ?

If any other of our presidents
had bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia,
would you have approved?

If any other of our presidents
had visited Austria and made reference
to the nonexistent "Austrian language,"
would you have brushed it off
as a minor slip?

If any other of our presidents
would have flown all the way to Denmark
to make a five minute speech about how the Olympics
would benefit him walking out his front door in his
home town, would you not have thought he was
a self-important, conceited, egotistical jerk?

If any other of our presidents
had burned 9,000 gallons of jet fuel
to go plant a single tree on Earth Day,
would you have concluded he's a Hypocrite?

So, tell me again,
what is it about Obama that
makes him so brilliant and impressive?

Can't think of anything?
Then you'd better start worrying.
He's done all these things in 28 months --
and you have less than 19 months
to come up with an answer.

Jon Voight is a senile old man. He gets SYPMPATHY CASTING FROM DENIRO AND SCORSESE.
He eats fucking soft food
And he is anything but brilliant

I'd like to debate this with one of the cogent people who show up to either guffaw at your post or lift you out of the gutter... But I have to go rescue my daughter from her drunk tea-partier mother.
Hopefully she'll be peaceful because her hero Sarah was in town recently.

Status: offline 		Interesting. I wander off for a few hours and all the replies are gone. I guess CM is an equal opporunity post remover. It seems though, that even the staunchest republicans here consider you somewhat radical.

Your bias shows, but that's human nature. When you don't like someone, nothing they do is right, or good enough, or of any possible good intent. Granted, our President is not quite the normal guy he was cracked up to be before the election, and had you been around you would've noticed me expressing disappointment. What's more I agree with some of what you say. But no matter how wide of a brush you use, you only paint one side of the wall.

Now I'm going to assume that everything in your OP is true. It probably is. But you screwed up when you started that " What other President ? " stuff. The snarky replies are gone, but soon others will come and respond to that " What other President ? " and pretty much clean your clock. All they have to do is look at GWB, but even GHWB had his moments.

"As long as I'm the dictator" That statement is totally off base for the President of the US to utter.

Then there are those who, for some reason have a problem eating potato chips. Gerald Ford should have his own sitcom, it would probably be as popular as "The Osborns". And what about this last election. The choices were Obama and McCain. So McCain figures he can cajole the US voters to vote for him by saying that the Iraq war could take 100 years. Yeah right. And these are just off the top of my haed. Let's not even go into Palin who was chosen for his running mate.

The fact is that none of these people are all that fucking smart. Teleprompters are nothing new. Locking unfriendly question askers from press conferences is nothing new. Bush established "free speech zones" to keep all his happy constituents away from his public outings. That is one of the most un-fucking-American things anyone could ever think of, why did it happen then ? His approval ratings made those of your apparent arch nemisis Barelyable look like those of Elvis Presley.

But you only see that which you seek. What other President ? Just about all of them. None of them are attached to the real world in any meaningful way. The don't even know the Constitution which they are sworn to uphold and they are self serving greedy MFs. All of them. Otherwise they wouldn't be there. They're all crooked and they become set for life, since after they leave the office, the REAL favors start pouring in.

That wasn't Obama's health care bill, it was written before he got there. I agree that he shouldn't have signed it. That wasn't Obama's bailout bill, it was already written before he got there, and again, I agree that he shouldn't have signed it. But he did. Both.

And add to that, all you seem to do is bitch about it. What kind of solutions do you suggest ? Not that it means anything, because no President all the way back to FDR was worth a shit. None of them operated in the best interests of the people. This mess took almost a century to create, and when a republican President fails to fix everything in four years, who are you going to blame ?

We could have 535 republican senators and congressmen, and a republican President and you know what would happen ? The same shit that will happen no matter who is elected. Then who is to blame ?

ETA : That's a much better picture, your last one was as bad as Wibeur's MAD magazine cover.

You sir, like most modern conservatives, are an intellectual coward. You claim to be patriotic but you only support those who share your narrow minded view of America.

Allow me to point out here that the "87,000 workers" count those who were affected by the 6 month moritorium on exploratory drilling, not productive wells, and aside from from most of those  jobs being restored,  in the interim a good many of those taken from offshore exploration were put to the task of offshore and shore clean up. Considering the above, we should be worried about how many more dead than how many laid off.

Over 100,000 civilian deaths in Iraq so far for reasserting the US/UK Middle East oil grab that commenced after WW I. The "Taking our oil back!" program as it might be rightfully termed, after the ME countries having the temerity to take back what was their own in the 60's and 70's.

So then let's just also not overlook the great rise in terrorism in response to all the above as direct result from that into account, and what measure does the already piss-poor account of oil 'safety record' have to play into it now?

Ask the few Nigerians that survived Chevron paid hellicopter gunships filling their village with relentless bullets and Iraqians dealing with mass destruction of family and society how much they give a crap about 'worker safety' for their invaders.

'Amazing'???? Do you know what the word means Mr. soi-disant "College Professor"? The quotes you posted were banal and tedious. Most of them weren't even original.
