LOL. I remember as a kid my friend and I made a prank call ... we sang "We wish you a shitty christmas....we wish you a shitty christmas....we wish you a shitty christmas and a f'ed up New Year." I felt so bad, I called them back and apologized. So no, ring and dash wasn't in my nature as a kid. I can understand how your friend is upset over repeated ring and dashes though. A knock on the door or a doorbell ring is a trigger for me. After I left my husband, I lived with an ever present feeling of heightened awareness, anxiety and fear - that he would find us. Every knock on the door or unexplained sound outside would set me on edge. I still feel anxious to this day when there is a knock on the door - although I have a door with a huge window and a sliding glass door completely unobstructing my view of anyone approaching the house, so its less an issue now.
