That's completely up to you (or the keyholder of your device). But one of the problems with the CB XXXX series is that they are made of plastic and don't breathe particularly well. This causes sweating, which in turn, causes odor over time. While you can't actually wash thoroughly with the device on the way you would with it off, it is still possible to keep it sanitary down there. A Q-Tips cotton swab works well. I use a body wash liquid and a Q-Tip to reach inside the CBXXXX and rub the sides of your penis. Lather up as best you can. Rub as much of the surface as you can reach. Also, stay in the shower longer than usual so that water can flow inside of the device. Lastly, wash the surrounding areas thoroughly. On an unrelated note, you'll also want to make sure you rub a good lubricant (baby oil works fine) on your penis before you put on the device. This will prevent unnecessary chafing. As far as how long you can keep the device on, that is going to vary from individual to individual. I've been kept in one for as long as 120 days and suffered no physical damage. But pay close attention to what your body is telling you. If you feel unusual tingling, or see odd discoloration, take the device off! You want to make sure you don't cut off circulation, because this can have very bad effects. Good luck with your device.
