Yep, true Dutchman. Always making fun of the outsiders' accents. Ya know, dude, your English isn't exactly flawless, either. But it's cute.

GreedyTop -> RE: Street Food (6/11/2011 8:46:45 AM)

Yes, I am a BAD Norwegian!! I DONT LIKE SALTED FISH! hell, I dont liek fish if it isnt fresh sushi!!

windchymes -> RE: Street Food (6/11/2011 8:50:05 AM)

So I guess lutefisk is out of the question? lol I was surprised to find recently that I actually like pickled herring. Took a little getting used to, but once I got used to it, I kept going back.

GreedyTop -> RE: Street Food (6/11/2011 8:51:58 AM)

Wind.. I am  not big on food that has lots of salt or lots of sugar...

that is a HUGE change for me form as little as 5 yrs ago...

ETA: I dint like lutefisk then, or gefiltefish...  and the Scots side of me totally eschews haggis!!

sunshinemiss -> RE: Street Food (6/11/2011 8:54:01 AM)

Well, if we're gonna go down that road...

Bondaeggi.

Aynne - I love you bunches.  Did I ever tell you about the time I learned to make ceviche?  We'll make it together and have a raucous good time.  Deal?

windchymes -> RE: Street Food (6/11/2011 8:55:05 AM)

greedy, in general, I'm not either, and with the herring, the fishy part was still kind of funky for me, but there was something about that vinegary taste of the pickling juice....the more I ate of it, the more I wanted! lol

Bondaeggi - as bad as it looks.

Ceviche - heavenly.  Really.  Oh gosh - hot and sweet and spicy and cold and lots of lime (I love love love lime - it is probably my most favorite food flavor).

LinnaeaBorealis -> RE: Street Food (6/11/2011 9:05:36 AM)

I am a total roach coach slut!! I love the burritos from them in California. And when I went downtown SF it was all a part of the experience to get a street dawg. Now I'm hungry!!!!

sunshinemiss -> RE: Street Food (6/11/2011 9:07:41 AM)

All right people - it's past my bedtime.  In the morning I expect to find amazing stories, wonderful food ideas, enough drool-worthy pictures to make me buy a plane ticket.
*smooches all around.
sunshine

GreedyTop -> RE: Street Food (6/11/2011 9:14:12 AM)

omg, there is no such thing  better than a carne asada from a street vendor in LA!!

Me too sunshine. Honest to god on a hot summer day or night, some ceviche, an ice cold beer or glass of wine, done! Need nothing else. I love mine on something simple like a garlicky toast or even a saltine cracker, with a fresh lime slice squeezed on every one!! My favorite combo is shrimp and like a whitefish or tons of crab, but hey, I ain't picky on my seafood!

Aileen1968 -> RE: Street Food (6/11/2011 11:05:52 AM)

Mmmmmm...the Greek trucks parked on College Ave at Rutgers, New Brunswick.
Tabbouleh in a warm pita is fucking good.

Aileen1968 -> RE: Street Food (6/11/2011 11:10:26 AM)

Ohhh also....the raw bars on Arthur Ave in the Bronx before a Yankee game.
Oysters, clams. Yum.
