So.. this should prove interesting in a site touting sexual diversity.. What is the problem, if you are one of the ones who has a problem, with gay marriage? How does it threaten you? Why do you feel it should not be allowed? Here is my position. They are citizens of our country paying taxes and allowed the same liberties as you and I. If you have a problem with it in a religious context.. I would bet you are in a religion that will not recognize their union within in it's domain, and that is fine. However, in terms of a civic concepts, your religious beliefs really have no impact on a judicial issue, or shouldn't. A civil union should be permitted between any two citizens of this country who wish to build a home and life together (didn't the big boys say something about life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness?). They also pay taxes. If you are not going to allow them the fiscal and social benefits of a legal union, are you going to let them get a tax break? Why should they pay for your kids schools if they are not allowed the right to create a family and raise children that will use them? Should they get a break on housing as they not only are being denied the tax breaks of head of household etc, but also the chance of ever getting that tax break (my point being, that a single hetero has that option , a single homosexual never will). Okay, I just lost an additional two cents, but I very much look forward to this debate!
