If the lady in person has a very good sense of humour, the OP could try The Little Book Of Goths by Dan Vice. It's very, very funny indeed, and it might be something nobody else will think of. :)

ooh.. sounds like fun!!

Well, I found it very funny, but then, I tend not to take myself too seriously, so it might, or might not be a good gift for her. :)

I wish the OP (and US!!) knew more about her..

but even so/./I will be looking for that book!!

It's widely available, and very cheap as well. A very funny read indeed, and also very true, which is great. You should be able to find a copy on ebay or Amazon, anyway. Happy reading. :)

to the op, i haven't read all of the suggestions, however......

you could always get this lady a blank grimoire book. something nicely bound to use as a diary, cook book, note-to-self, that sort of thing.

as for candles....i love candles and keep them as a show piece if they mean something to me as a gift.

maybe a nice velvet choker

i can't really wear watches and was recently bought a pocket watch. the steampunk ones are great too.

I thought of another one.  It's a little over the $25 limit though.  Buy her a year's subscription to Gothic Beauty Magazine (www.gothicbeauty.com)!  The magazine features fashion reviews, band interviews, book/music/product reviews, and DIY projects.

It's published quarterly and the most recent issue just hit the shelves.  You can pick up Issue #33 for $7 plus tax and then print up a fake "certificate" on your computer to let her know you've bought her a subscription.  She will love it.

E2A: If it's really important to stick to the $25 limit, you could pick up the one issue and then give her a gift certificate to Borders to get more if she likes it.

The woman lists that she is "into goth, vampires and chocolate".

Some sort of life might be a good idea.

I'm not sure if your budget covers it though.
