Kana -> RE: Hi Regular posters, is your offline world as busy as your online. (6/15/2011 9:48:46 PM)

Hmmm, 2000 or so post since 2006. Buuuuuuuuuut, it should also be noted that I am actually in my 2nd CM incarnation, my first had maybe 30 posts and had been around since about 03/04. Mitigating that, I get bored/busy/frustrated with the same old questions etc...and take hiatuses from the forums from time to time, some of which have lasted for extended periods.
Now, I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm an ADD boy in a wired world, so, like PtD, I bounce in and out of CM all day long. Heck, I do my work online, I do research online, it's really no big deal to keep one more window open and periodically poke my nose in.

...so now that I am better I will soon be going away again. I am moving in two weeks also, which will mean I will get out of the habit of posting so much

[:)]

He teases me when I'm clingy.  I'm a self admitted clinger, I tell ya.

It's not even another window for me - it's another tab!  I currently have 8 tabs open across my Firefox window, and 3 tabs open on my IE window.  I'm click-happy!

myotherself -> RE: Hi Regular posters, is your offline world as busy as your online. (6/15/2011 10:15:11 PM)

According to my stats, I've posted about 60 times a month since I joined. That's 2 posts a day - 3 on a busy day.

Wow - I must REALLY have no life!! [8|]

I'm shown online for hours at a time because I rarely bother to log off, even when I'm not using my computer or I'm out at work or doing 'life stuff'. I'm guessing a lot of people also do that.

ETA: I'm also a 130wpm touch typist, and I'm smart enough to be able to think and type at the same time, so posting really doesn't take much time at all.

WyldHrt -> RE: Hi Regular posters, is your offline world as busy as your online. (6/15/2011 10:58:51 PM)

Hmmm... *checks stats* I joined 6/5/08 and this post makes 6200.
Yup, I'm a postwhore! [:D]

tiggerspoohbear -> RE: Hi Regular posters, is your offline world as busy as your online. (6/16/2011 2:28:00 AM)

Hell, I've got over 10,000 posts since about June of last year when i joined under a new user name.  But until I moved 2 wks ago, I live in the country, literally had no life, was agoraphobic and this was my social outlet.  The friends I have are ones I made here online.  My r.l friends broke promises to meet, and unless I absolutely had to go out, I didn't.  Life isn't always what you want it to be, so you make the best of your situation.  I play a lot of the games, I'm a one-woman introduction wave and I  peruse about 6 forums.

I didn't ask for my life to turn into this, but it has.  I can't work due to illness, money is tight, to put it mildly, and this turns into my outside world.  Is it healthy?  Probably not.  Do I care?  No, it keeps me busy.  I also manage to read 10-15 books a week, do some arts and crafts and myriad other indoor activities.  I'm lucky enough to have made a friend before I moved here and she's going to get me out of the house.

LinnaeaBorealis -> RE: Hi Regular posters, is your offline world as busy as your online. (6/16/2011 2:55:01 AM)

I actually have no offline life. I am but pixels. I only exist on your screen.

Charnegui -> RE: Hi Regular posters, is your offline world as busy as your online. (6/16/2011 3:15:05 AM)

On and Off I'm addicted to this site and to others as well.
Now I am in between jobs, I check here and there all day, my pc is never turned off.

But I walk my dog and have other things to do, so I'll be off for a day or won't post for a day.
With 444 posts in 1½ month I looks like I have moved in here [:D] or something like that.

needlesandpins -> RE: Hi Regular posters, is your offline world as busy as your online. (6/16/2011 4:12:45 AM)

i'm perminantly logged in here whether i'm here or not. i may leave my lappy online all day and go to work, or like this morning where i've been out for some time but back for a short time before going out again. i leave it ticking over while i watch films or spend time with my son. there are a whole host of reasons really. i also don't sleep so could end up being here well into the small hours.

this forum has alot of sections and a thread can get a real kick on where you are posting loads bantering back and forth. so it's hardly surprising that people end up with a large posts number in a short time. it doesn't mean their outside life is empty though.

Ahhh, well but you see, now you have to tell your guy that he's been only imagining all the kink things you did together and it was all just a figment of his imagination... Please do break the news gently to him [8D]

Is your offline world as busy as your online, or is BDSM purely something you do here posting very regularly? I wonder because I certainly would not have time to post as much as some- due to real life.

I respectfully request that you take a little more time to form your questions.
Or perhaps just explain how one can be BDSM'ing simply by posting on a forum.

Also, I don't designate my activities online as being any less real than what I do
or who I am offline. My interaction is genuine, regardless of the medium.

So I try to convince someone I know, but the person I mean, doesnot seem to believe such a statement.

IT isn't one or the other,it all blends perfectly together..I am busy as hell nI am back to work full time as a business agent for a union..B

LillyBoPeep -> RE: Hi Regular posters, is your offline world as busy as your online. (6/16/2011 6:37:33 AM)

when i'm posting on here too much, that means i'm not all that busy.
when i'm not posting so much, it means i am busy.
i type very fast and have pretty fast thoughts so i get a lot of crap posted here in a short period of time. oooooor i go back and forth between posting here, leaving my house, coming back, painting something (my painting area and computer are in the same room), etc etc
and of course with phones that have internet access, someone could be in the middle of a business meeting playing around on collarme.
being all high and mighty because you have a low post count has 1) never made to sense to me, and 2) become less and less sensible as technology advances.

also, my tendency to forget to log out is why i changed my settings to keep my online status private. sometimes when people think you're online, they get some expectation that you will respond IMMEDIATELY to whatever silly message they've sent you, when you may not be back for 2 days.the butthurt "why didn't you reply fast enough?!" messages don't belong in my inbox. =p

Me to a T. (except for the boy part...[:D]) I am a rabid multi tasker. I read super fast and I type super fast. I am usually doing 3-4 things at once. Yesterday I typed several replies while on the phone and entering 4 orders. It's no big thing at all.

Now, when I am not here........it's hit and miss. All depends on what else is going on and largely, the weather and time of year. If it is nice outdoors, I won't be online much on the weekend. Bop on to check news, email, stop in here........while I am having coffee or a meal, and that's about it. If the weather is sucky and I am procrastinating doing some house cleaning.....you might see me around.

Most of my computer time this weekend will be me, trying to recover a thousand or more photo files.... my external hard drive died.

i'll post like a madman while writing a paper -- honestly, sometimes thinking about something other than what i'm mostly doing helps me do that particular thing better it seems.

Sorry for the multiple quote, but I felt it was relevant.

I was beginning to think that I was the only one seeing it this way.  The title of the thread and the actual post lead to two different interpretations of the question.  The title seems to ask about a person's general activity in life circumstances.  The thread itself made Me think that the OP was specifically asking about those activities, events, daily interactions, etc associated with BDSM.

It does! Helps with writer's block as well, same effect as taking a walk, you concentrate too much on a thing and you block yourself pretty often, switching off and thinking about something else and you get a much better perspective...

I promise to tell him gently - if I'm too robust in my discussions with him he gets out the virtual whip and leaves virtual marks all over my virtual body!

Which are bloody painful to sit on. Virtually. [:D]
