Too bad Paul Ryan doesn't have the balls to run for the nomination and defend his policies but these losers want to do it for him even though it’s an albatross around the Republican Party and their necks.


Bill Maher: Republicans Have Horrible Society Killing Ideas For America - Video

Anderson Cooper interviewed Bill Maher Tuesday night about the Republican debate. When asked if what he saw had caused him to change his mind, Maher answered,

“No, of course it got even worse. It’s tough sledding there as a progressive, as a sane person just to watch that, to see that Republicanism has really become a religion. And when I say religion I mean they just have a series of baseless assertions that they cleave to, you know. And it’s like if there was just one sane person in that room to give perspective, but there wasn’t. So you have seven people up there who are all claiming things that we know don’t work like reducing taxes will somehow magically increase revenue and somehow by keeping the profit motive in the healthcare system that’s going to solve that problem.”

Maher is speaking as “that sane person” in the media that we need. Sad to say that we depend upon comedians and satirists like Maher, Stewart and Colbert to keep it real.

Bill Maher has had a massive transformation over the last 20 years. He started out a slightly hawkish conservative with libertarian ideas about drugs and sex. He has shifted to the point that most of his politics align with my own. He has always had a rational basis for his ideas and opinions... even when I did not agree with him. The one exception was when he got on the bandwagon to invade Iraq. I will give this man credit, though, he realized how wrongheaded that was and changed his mind. He also was big enough to admit he was wrong

bush and co put the conservative agenda into play for 6-8 years.

It wasn`t just rhetorical,it was their policies in action.

It wasn`t just theory,it was the reality.

And boy what a failure.

That lesson in amateur governance cost us how may trillions?

A lot of middle-roaders were pushed to the left by the bushies.

Except we won big time in the last election.

Love the way you write this kind of thing then turn around and embrace and fiercely defend Bushs policies when its a Democrat implementing them

I like the analysis by Bill Maher. I hope he will be honest when the democrats will be on stage (I expect to hear the same buffoons story).
