I have no problem with Weiner except he lied. Which most men will do when confronted with something like that. Its between him and his wife.

I have no problem with a blow job in the oval office. Im sure more than one President got sucked off within days of moving in. Between two consenting adults... eh.. not my business.

I have problems with hiring a hooker... only because its illegal. If he had been in Nevada, I wouldnt see anything wrong with it at all.

This was being discussed on the news today... the frequent answer given was, because he (i) lied, tried to use, and was confrontational with the media, and (ii) lied to his associates in Congress -- so when the truth came out, there was both disgust with him and a desire for retribution.

The Clinton scenario came up as well (given he'd also initially lied, and to a Grand Jury as well), but no clear answer was given why Clinton (who actually had "sexual relations") didn't suffer the same consequence -- except that Weiner-Dude was insignificant, where Clinton was President.

I wish he hadnt lied, if he simply admitted it all 3 weeks ago it would have taken the wind out of it and the whole thing would be yesterdays news and he would still have his job and be more repected than he is now. Nothing like making a dumb mistake and then making another dumber mistake to cover it up. Many people wanted to believe his lies and defended him only to find out they were duped by him and now they look totally stupid. Politicians like that undo in a short time all of the good they have done cuz now this whole fiasco is what most people will remember.
Ah well, we will see if this is the end of it or if more women, etc come out. lol

Guess hes gonna be a stay at home daddy for a while...

The problem is that he lied, he lied to other politicians, he lied to friends, he lied to his wife, he lied to the public. He said his twitter account was hacked so of course twitter had to do an investigation into it since it was their business reputation and security measures on the line, so they had a cost for that and whatever damage from people believing their twitter account was also at risk. He also went on to ask at least one woman to lie for him, not a good idea!

Not only that, people would have actually respected him more had he told the truth, to finally see a politician admit his mistake instead of trying to cover it up, instead he revealed his true moral character and betrayed his supporters. He must have pretty bad advisors cuz anyone that does damage control knows you own up to the mistake immediately and that defuses the issue and its newsworthyness. I would bet had he admitted it right off, most or all of those women wouldnt have come out publicly either so he wouldnt look as bad in that respect. He must be going thru a mid-life crisis or something cuz he sure wasnt using his head.

It is a sad fact that UM's are being forced to grow up too fast these days, what with the technology we have created, but because we had childhoods perhaps we look disdainfully on our contempories, but we have enabled the loss of innocence, so who are we to talk.

But as to Anthony Wiener, is it he is being blasted for his lying, or his alleged innapropriate conduct with an under age member of society, the latter in our technological age being even harder to distinguish, especially so when the under age lie about their age, as many who are around the age of consent see no reason why they should not be allowed to engage with those old enough to have consent bar laws and rules which might even be out of date, given the speed in which the young grow up these days.

If it is Anthony Wiener is being lambasted for lying, why, was it because he was a liar that was caught, what about all the other liars that are keeping their head down, for surely everyone is aware where there is power and money, there is sleaze aplenty, it is just that many cover their tracks well or have specialists engaged for that sort of thing.

It is sad though that his actions have caused upset to his wife and family, but it is often said that when someone needs to look elsewhere, that is an indication that their needs are not being met at home.

As the saying goes ;

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone

Or are we all liars in that respect too, in which case the death of honour and trust.
