I am watching Skin, the true story of Sandra laing, a black girl born to white parents in apartheid Africa, with my son who is mixed race. And while, in this day and age, and in Australia, he does not have to deal with racism, certainly not to the extent of South Africa that's for sure, he is finding the whole movie rather confronting, and struggling to understand. I am doing my best to explain it to him but I don't think I am doing a very good job... atm I have a 6'2, 16yo, curled up beside me cuddling my leg. :(
