I'm new here and I've invited some girls to chat, but have never received an invite that I know of. I know that once you have been sent an invite, you have 5 minutes to accept it. If I'm out of the room or not paying attention, etc.,will I see some notification of a missed chat invite, or will I just be totally unaware that it ever happened? Thanks

I've never actually used that but I've heard others say that it doesn't actually work. I'd imagine that if it does work it would remain until you dismissed it. In these situation you have to think about the people not nimble with their fingers i.e. if it were to vanish immediately then they'd never get to reply before it vanished. It would be like that game whackamole, very frustrating.

you get a little notification on your home page, but nothing telling you "wow you missed a chat!" a lot of people just don't accept random chat invites from people they've never exchanged messages with.

I'd like it to say: "Wow you've missed a chat and it could have been "the one"".
