Hunky, over the years I have allowed a lotta slack to you given your self-professed issues..
but here I draw the line.  You are NOT a parent and wont ever be./   Nor am I ever gonna be a parent.  The difference is that I actually listen to my friends that ARE parents.. and I draw on my perceptions as an  adult child of those that had to deal with me as a child and as a teen.

I hope you do not misunderstand me, I am not judging people. I am just saying how the law is here.. it might not be technically illegal to push a stroller while legally drunk down the street. I can imagine if something happened there would be repercussions. So, is it right or wrong? I think it would depend on a few factors which I would have to be around to see. I know how we are here, though, which is we hold people up by their balls when they drink and something happens while they are under the influence

Is that right or wrong? I think it is better than the way it used to be in some regards. People used to pass out drunk with their kids around and no one would do a damn thing but shake their heads... my mom was in a car accident when she was 9 because their neighbor hit them head on... she couldn't walk because she was so drunk. So, while perhaps there is an overreaction, it is better than the attitude we used to have here about alcohol, which was fairly laissez-faire

There is a little town down the road that has one bar. Quite often, they have pot lucks. In the 10 years I've lived here I've probably been to that bar a handful of times. I just don't like bars. But I have stopped in at the urging of other family members that frequent the bar, during the pot luck dinner nights. Each time there are loads of kids there. Initially I thought it was because it was just because of the meal. I learned that the locals taking their kids in, is the norm. That the locals kids run in and out all the time, usually because that is where their parents are.

For me, my personal standards for myself.........it's wrong. For them, it is normal. Most of those people are fairly heavy drinkers. That bar is more community centre and local gathering place, like one big weird hillbilly incestuous family, than what a lot of people think of a bar to be.

I don't like it, I don't believe in it, I wouldn't do it. But the reality is that that kind of thing goes on alllllllllll over small town/rural America. I tend to believe that fewer kids are damaged by it than are. And I would venture to say that there are many more choices the parents make, actions taken, that are far more harmful.
