ORIGINAL: poise If you are getting so caught up in why this one did that, or why so and so may have blocked you or not, you are taking time away from those that are worthy of your attention. I agree with this. GypsyCowgirl, I know that you said that you're a newbie, but it's still a waste of your time trying to figure out why people do stupid things. You've apparently specified that you only want to meet local people. Therefore, you should ignore any messages that you get that don't meet that criteria. Also, as a woman, it is much more dangerous for you to meet a local guy than it is for him to meet you. So if anyone should be asking for webcam verification, it's you. But since you feel comfortable meeting in person, then why shouldn't he? One sad fact of this site (and most other sites like it) is that most of the people who will contact you are actually living in a fantasy world. They have fantasized about BDSM, but they are too scared to actually give it a try. So instead, they do silly things like you've apparently been experiencing. The easy solution is to simply tell them that you don't own a webcam. Since you're new, I'll offer you this piece of advice; the first step in actually establishing a successful relationship with someone here on CM is simply to show up at the in-person meeting. That may sound like it's so basic that it doesn't even need to be said. However, once you've been on here a bit longer, you'll come to realize that 90% of the people on here are too scared to actually show up at a meeting. Sure, they'll tell you that they're going to meet you. But when you get to the meeting place, they'll be a no-show. My guess is that these are the types of people who have been contacting you and asking to webcam rather than agreeing to meet you. Even though you're a newbie, if you actually show up at a meeting, it will immediately put you in the top 10% of all the people here on CM. Good luck in your search.
