Ok, I'm feeling a little out of my element here. I made an account and immediately had about 20 notices in my email. Why is it when a woman admits to being a lone, somewhat untrained submissive all the fruitcakes come out?

Use your brain, have a look around the fora, watch, ask questions, have fun and be caareful

Please engage your brain before giving up your heart

Brace yourself! This site has far more than 20 fruitcakes.
Being a new member, you are showing up on the radar as fresh meat.
Most will salivate more than pavlovs dog over that simple fact alone, and
be fighting each other to see who can make it to your mailbox first.

The good news is, it will die down eventually. Welcome to Collarme!

Thank you so much for the advice. I do intend to use my brain but sometimes it tends to get ahead of my common sense.

It is not particularly surprising that you would get some "fruitcakes" responding to your ad.  You can just ignore them or block them.  The best thing to do IMHO is to weed through the ones that interest you and ignore the rest.  Obviously, you need to be very careful about sharing personal info or meeting someone for real.  Some of the so-called "Doms" in here (or anywhere, just for the record), aren't Doms at all.  Some are just wannabes, some think that being a bully makes you a Dom, and some are just plain nuts.  I have however, met a few who have it together and are for real.  So, if I can find that as an older sub male, I know there are many more for a sincere sub female.  Just accept that you will get some weird contacts (maybe even mostly weird ones)  and that is just part of the lifestyle. Good luck and be safe!

I feel so much more comfortable after just a few posts. I have been having a light conversation on yahoo with a gentleman who calls himself TwistedMaster. It was fun as long as it went until he ordered me to tell him about some long term relationships I'd had since my divorce. That is just personal to discuss with a stranger and I told him so. Needless to say, he got very offended and said i must not be serious about being a sub.

Just remember erie, just because someone claims to be a master, doesn't make them one.

I could claim I'm 6'4 all day and I'd still be way off.

You seem to be off to a good start. Welcome.

I consider myself a genuine Dom, and I'd be leery of writing someone who gives so little info about herself in her profile.  Why are you keeping yours blank?

I might have asked you the same thing - how long did the relationships last, what did you like about the interactions, what didn't you like.  I wouldn't consider that to be very personal.

His response indicates that he doesn't desire to listen nor to work things out.  "Me Dom, you sub".

You're learning.

Welcome to CM and the boards.  The advice you got from Poise and Lucy is right on the spot.  You're showing up on the new user list, for the next 60 days I think, so they're crawling out of the woodwork.  You'll be able to tell the wackos right off for the most part.  Please trust your gut instinct and don't let common sense go out the window.  Take it from someone who's been there, done that and paid for it dearly.  Good luck.
