On another thread the idea of there being certain posters who will draw you into a thread regardless of your overall interest in the topic was raised. I thought about it and decided that rather than hijacking that thread further, I would start this one.

I have a lot of such posters, in no particular order they are....
Ron (mnottertail). He is a treat, I will check out any thread to see what he posted, no matter where.

Lady P...well it depends on the topic. It's got to be something new. I've been reading her stuff for so long that I can almost guess what she'll say if its a topic that's been well covered before.

I used to with NS, but he's gotten grouchy of late, so not so much.

Icarys. I usually don't like what he says, but I usually like the way he says it.

Sunny & Julia & Gungadin (I'd say Pam, but we have way to many of those to do that). Almost always sensible and reasonable. There's pretty much always something you can sink your teeth into in their posts.

Anenoz. I love the stuff she posts, so very different a world she lives in, and I do love her gentle outlook on life. And the way she mangles the language yet somehow it comes out sounding poetic. So when she does post I go read it.

Parappa. He is one funny guy!! And he usually has some pretty good ideas wrapped in the laughs.

Jefff (is that enough "f"s?). He cracks me up.

ResidentSadist. You know it's going to be good, either funny or informative (quite often both). You really never know which, but it's always good.

Kirata. I don't like the guy, but I love the laconic way he posts. And he makes me think as well.

Lady Hib. I like her, she's fun and playful & LaT. I always check out her posts, she rocks.

Kana and SailingBum. I like their stuff as well. They both present their stuff in a similar manner, a "she's my cunt and I'll do what I like" attitude, but behind that there's usually some good points.

FukinTroll of course. Gems just seem to drip from his fingertips. I miss him.

Hannah Lynn, because she a friend and she makes me think more than most others.

HeatherMcLeather because she is a friend and I like her thoughtfulness and her wide eyed enthusiasm. And her joyful sluttishness as well.

Willbe and Sanity down in P&R. I always want to see what crazy shit they come out with. I actually really like and respect them both, even though I almost never agree with either of them.

Iron Bear is usually good, so I check him out. Funny, honourable, and very experienced, both in life and in the lifestyle.

Rochsub. He's smart and sexy. And he knows his women.

SternSkipper. I like his sense of humour. I usually have to think a minute about his jokes, and when it clicks they are hilarious.

So who do you read?

Disclaimer: If you disagree with or dislike somebody who is listed (by me or by somebody else), please keep it to yourself. The idea here is to shine a light on posters who's stuff you read and why, not to start a discussion of the merits or lack thereof of anybody. Let's keep this positive. Thanks.

Edited for formatting.

I read anyone telling something interestin and anyone with a good sense of humor.

My presence on the boards here is for amusement, for getting to know people. If I actually do not sound sublike, that's upon you.
A while ago, I really learned to leave problems, there where they belong or originate. If it is not mine, I do not bother.
If  I can make someone happy with some advice I will.

So I won't mention names, I just read and sometimes read quietly

Any list I make is bound to be incomplete..but here goes:

DaddysRedHead: do I need to explain?
Sunshinemiss: she often grounds me, especially after I've been snarky
LadyP and LaT:  wise women, both (and such wicked humor!)
ResidentSadist: for the reasons Arpig mentioned
All of the CaliBirthday wimminz.. again, do I have to explain?
Hejira and Cuffkinks
BSB

oh hell, MANY of the repeat offenders down here in P&RS (although I DO try to stay outta P&R)

and I know there are many others, but hey, it was a long night at work (how does 8 hrs FEEL like 18???)

Hannah and Heather, because I think that they are a refreshing addition to the forums

Oye. I hate trying to reply to threads where I need to name names.

I have a weird brain in that it does not computer names and numbers well. They just sort of float on by. I remember in a different way, photos, and the feel of a person I get through their words. But names utterly escape me.

Seriously Arp.........your list covers my favs pretty solidly. Humour is pretty high on my list. Anyone that can have a discussion without making it personal, aka be a grown up. Intelligence, or at least my perception of it.

The only person I can think to add would be Aileen. Her humour and humanity makes her one totally cool chick.

I just thought of a couple more additions, and will probably think of more!

Stella, she and I do not always agree but I adore her point of view. She nearly always gives me reason to think.

Porcelaine, she hasn't been around lately but I adore her. If I was someone that identified as a slave or wanting to be one, her words would be invaluable. As they are, the wisdom and class, always impresses me and, helps me to see things from the other side of the coin, so to speak.

Bita - When I first joined this site and felt very lost and clueless about a lot of things. I found her words to be invaluable in understanding the submissive/slave mindset. Her humour, and the aspects of her relationship and life that she has shared......a treasure.
And like magic, I think of her, say her name and VOILA"!!!!! Spoooooooooooookyyyyyyyy.

There are several others who's names are just totally escaping me at the moment.

I would be afraid of leaving out someone so I'm not going to list anyone in particular. I am attracted to brains, quirk and people who can surprise me so those are the folks I like to read. I am fortunate that I have a myraid of choices because there are so many great posters here.

Hey baby!

We're still doing that nomad thing. Right this minute, we are in the States.. this time next week, we'll be in Singapore (work visas finally came through). I don't know for how long because Himself didn't seem to like it very much except as a place to vacation, but we'll see. I've got a wee bit of the travel bug left in me, but it sure has been nice to be home for a bit. I really am looking forward to the day he retires so I can just relax and stop packing and unpacking all the time!

i don't really have people i "follow," per se; i can agree with someone one day, and disagree with them the next without letting it influence my interactions with them or with others. frankly, i'd say that's what "being a grown up" is about. =p
i'm more interested in topics, though, from time to time, i will sorta follow someone around to see what his/her thoughts are on a subject. or certain subjects make me think of certain people, like a topic about Leather makes me think of LadyPact, a lot of M/s topics make me think of leadership527, etc etc.

In no particular order:
  • Angelika (I think I am spelling her nick wrong, sorry) It's uplifting how she always rises above the fray and manages to say something nice a/o helpful.
  • Hannah
  • Heather
  • LaTigresse
  • LadyConstance
  • Leadership
  • NS
  • Domiguy
  • Resident Sadist
  • Rochsub
  • Chiathepet
  • Sunshinemiss
  • Stella (when she is around)
  • DarkSteven
  • Awareness (yeah, I know, but sometimes the man is actually right)
  • LadyP
I'm probably forgetting some names . . .

Some I like to read b/c I know I will agree with them, and they save me lots of typing. Others I read b/c I know I won't agree, and they make me think.

Are you guys going to be living in Singapore now? I can swing down there really easily! I have a few weeks off this summer, and I love Singapore! (I know a fabu place for coffee! Let's meet up!)

... back to the thread:
I too am nervous about writing specific names. Also, my interest in people waxes and wanes with my own mindset - when I need to argue, I look up X, and when I need to be intellectual, I look up Y, and when I need to be goofy, I look up Z.

There aren't many people that go into all those categories.

I do follow OttersSwim around a bit... and Lookie No Nookie. Panda when he's around (where is he dangit!). I am mentioning these fellows in particular because they have helped me understand the pov of male submissives which had alluded me forever.

If KofM is around, I read him - same deal. He has really helped me understand poly.

and depending on where I am in my cycle (ahem) I may follow people around like a bitch in heat and flirt like there is no tomorrow. (TMI?)

best,
sunshine

p.s. I often find that I follow my friends around on other sites more than CM. *shrug*

I will mention some that aren't on your list...

LucyLastic, hippiekinster, tweakabelle, slavemike4u - they make me laugh by ass off in the politics forum,owner59, domken,

thishereboi - is one of the more reasonable people in PR, and probably the least hypocritical person on this site

I enjoy arpig because he says what he really thinks, and that is not very common anywhere, and it makes me want to read him. I enjoy LaT for the same reason, they both make me laugh.

As far as lifestyle threads go, I get stuff from KoM, when he decides to post in general discussion, he makes me think, even though I am not poly.

The list is really long, and I am not mentioning people. I mostly wanted to mention the people who post mostly PR, because they make my day with making me laugh, and I enjoy the rapport.

There are many people who used to post here that I miss, too.

Thanks for mentioning me, DS. I always enjoy your posts as well.

I am also one of those people who would never mention specific names because there are too many that I really enjoy for various reasons, humor, insight, intelligence, niceness, spirit, hotness, common sense, etc.

I would also never mention the pompous assholes who annoy me. No one annoys me enough to block them, however, since then I would be losing out on an opportunity to laugh.

I do miss some of the lost posters; again no names.
