OK, I haven't gotten many responses to emails I've sent out to tops. When I look in my sent email I see about 1/3 show read as "NO". Are dommes getting so many emails that they don't even open them? Why don't they just delete them unread then?

It could be that they have filters set up and for one reason or another (age, location, gender, etc.), your emails are being automatically sent to their Bulk folder.

Steven's right. It's either a case of bulk filter settings that they don't bother to check because they set up their mail because that's where the ones go that they know they don't want. There's also a great hover feature here that allows you to look at the beginning of a message without having to open it if you want to prioritize your time on replies. Somebody said on another thread that the response rate for first contact messages was between five and ten percent. It was backed up in the past by a study from OKCupid. If you're male, that's probably about how it's going to go.

Not to mention that many people won't open your email until after they've viewed your profile. If the profile doesn't appeal, then they don't open it.

See, I personally find that the red text on the tabs drives me nuts with irritation, so I tend to open/delete my emails JUST TO MAKE IT GO AWAY. But I'm aware that that's my own shit and nobody else is likely to think twice about it.
