I went to a city planning meeting, and I was there with a group of people who were seeking signage, and they were being listened to by their elected representative - city councilperson, who in fact "listened" to them and was helping them with their concerns.

I have also went to city hall meetings where I saw people advocate for where bus routes should go, they didn't listen to me, but they did listen to the other side.

I have done interviews about air quality where I was recently living, and I determined that the EPA was indeed listening to residents and pressuring the shipping companies to watch air pollution

The California Coastal Commission listens to people with concerns about pollution on the Golden Coast... I have witnessed this
