When I was 30ish I was reading a story on the net about MLK being a communist and a subverter of freedom. I got really angry about it, and I fired off a nasty-gram to the guy who wrote it. The letter he wrote me back slayed me. He basically said I should check his sources, his line of thinking, but instead I had an emotional and hatefilled reaction.

I learned something very valuable that day, I learned that he was right, either his spew lived up or it didn't. I then questioned why I reacted that way to it, and the answer was that I think so much of MLK's legacy that I felt this guy was besmirching his character... and he WAS doing that, but my response would have been much more forceful if I questioned his sources instead of jumping his shit.

I no longer just jump people's shit for saying something I do not like. If my worldview is worthwhile, people can question it. I have no sacred cows. People who do post like you, Hunky, and that is not a compliment. It means that you will support a position right or wrong, just having blind faith in it. No human being deserves blind faith, certainly not Alex Jones.
