Though, considering you said yourself it ignores other factors on state revenue, would you care explaining why the right continues to push it as the core basis for deregulation and reducing tax rates, implicitly suggesting the link between tax rates and revenue as illustrated by the Laffer curve is causative in nature and not merely correlative? Especially given the last 60 years' of hard evidence suggesting an extraordinarily weak correlation if any between the two. Plus, the ten years of evidence, that if the Laffer curve were in fact as the Republicans push it, suggest the U.S. is actually on the left side and need to raise taxes for higher revenue opposed to lower them yet again which is exactly what the Republicans want to do.
