http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2011/06/newt-gingrich-obama-is-so-bad-black-people-will-vote-republican.php

Gingrich stopped off at an airport Marriott near Baltimore Thursday to keynote the Maryland GOP's annual Red, White & Blue banquet. Before the speech, he assured reporters that his campaign was still going strong. When he took the podium, he offered Republican donors a long, dense speech full of red meat and warnings about the state of the world around us.

He also said it was time for Republicans to tell African Americans how terrible Obama has been for them.

He broke out the "Obama is the food stamp president" line that got him in racial trouble earlier in the campaign.

But this time, he spun the line into a suggestion that the African American vote is ripe for the plucking.

Here's how the line works: Obama is the food stamp president, Gingrich says, whereas he wants to be the paycheck president. The difference comes down to creating jobs or not, and Gingrich says he knows how to create them.

And that's where the black vote comes in.

"No administration in modern times has failed younger blacks more than the Obama administration," Gingrich said.

He explained that "in May, we had 41% unemployment among black teenagers in America." That means if Republicans can put on a brave face, they might be able to turn the African American vote their way.

Think of the social catastrophe of 41% of a community not being able to find a job. But we have to have the courage to walk into that neighborhood, to talk to that preacher, to visit that small business, to talk to that mother. And we have to have a convincing case that we actually know how to create jobs.

"The morning they believe that, you're going to see margins in percents you never dreamed of decide there's a better future," Gingrich said. "It takes courage, it takes hard work, it takes discipline and it's doable."

"I will bet you there is not a single precinct in this state in which the majority will pick for their children food stamps over paychecks," he said.

OK the biggest jerkoffs for me are marked in red

I think he completely lost the fucking plot and his mind.
So basically he thinks that lying to the demographic is the only way??
business as usual?
sick fuck

The simple fact is that Newt was probably completely unelectable in the primary when he announced, and he's become more electable, if such is possible since.

I'm not sure if he's still in it for ego, to sell more Newtschwag to the loyal believers, or if he's so deluded he thinks he has a shot.

OK, I am extremely disappointed in Obama. I mean I campaigned for this guy. I went door-to-door registering people to vote at a time when I could hardly walk. I was at his campaign office every day by 8 am out at noon to go to work, then stopping by the campaign office again at 9:30 on my way home. I am disappointed in Obama because he has failed to close Gitmo (a key measure he campaigned on), he gave us a crappy health reform bill by taking a public option off the table before any negotiations even started, and he has extended almost every one of Bush's policy errors. But to call Obama the "food stamp" president and claim it is because he doesn't care that unemployment is so high is just out and out stupid. But then this is Gingrich we are talking about.

Gingrich and the rest of the regressive party (they do want to take us back to the 1850s or further) will stop at nothing to change history and make us all forget that Bush was the one who crashed the economy. They would like for us to forget that 12 years of tax cuts to the wealthy did nothing to create or even save jobs, but it sure added to the deficit when the government needed it the most. And they would mostly like for us to forget that as much as the deficit exploded under Reagan, that man, at least, was mature enough to say, ok, this isn't working, we need to raise revenue'. In Reagan's 8 years, he raised taxes a total of 10 times!! But the regressive party would like us to forget that. 'What? they say, Ray-gun never raised taxes, he cut taxes, he cut government, he cut spending.' Some of us know better.

Why are you surprised by Obama's failings? This is why I voted for Clinton in the primaries; she never thought she could get something done that was completely unrealistic, given the crazy Christian conservatives in this country. However, you are 100% correct--Who has ever heard Obama even mention food stamps? It's shameless race baiting. Just like Newt pouted in the back of Air Force One during the Clinton administration, shutting down the gov't and becoming one unpopular mofo as a result, he has a tin ear when it comes to running for President. No worries with him.

And hey, at least he called Paul Ryan's plan out for what it was--"extreme right wing social engineering."

Oops.  I meant "more unelectable".

He divides his time between Callista and Tiffany.
