Can anyone tell me if there is a measurement chart for corsets?

Here is an idea...

Different corset companies measure slightly differently. Custom corsets are done based on your measurements, so your mileage may vary. It also depends on the type of corset you are looking for.

Remember, when you first start wearing the corset, put it on, and lace loosely. Wear it this way for 20-40 minutes before further lacing. It needs to warm up before any tight lacing or you will break it down fast.

I had no idea about lacing it loosely before lacing it tighter. Might explain the rapid deterioration of my corsets (and the fact that they were Fredericks of Hollywood crap).

FofH corsets can last a long time if handled right. They are not designed for "tight lacing" or "waist training", they are fashion corsets.

Here is an excellent article on waist training and corsets.

There is absolutely no better feeling in the world than a tightly laced corset. A close second is the relief of being naked after wearing it all day. I love my corsets laced tightly and often find that after an hour or two of wearing it, I need to tighten the laces.

When ordering a corset from an online maker, you should be asked to submit numerous measurements. Not just your bra size, but underarm to waist measurement is essential to good fit.

Yes, you can get a great fitting corset online. but only if you measure properly. You will almost certainly need someone to do this for you. If you have no one, then measure several times. I cannot stress how important this is for a good fit.

It is also important to decide what you want the corset for before purchasing one. A waist trainer, a fashion corset, or even a period correct style designed to make your outer clothing fit in the style it should fit. All corsets are not created equal.

(Ahh, there is Ms. ChatteParfaitt above me, makes me just want to fall to my knees and grovel like a good girl.)

A very important point. I was assuming some feminization, but then I am wired that way.

*raising a shapely eyebrow at the hint of a grovel*

As for groveling at your feet Ms. Chatte, just whisper "come here" and I'd be booking a flight to where-ever you are in a heartbeat. *fluttering eyelashes*
