I'm new to CM and new to chatting online in general but since I've joined I've hard a hard time attracting the attention of any subs/slaves. I have tried all sorts of different approaches but never seem to make the right contact. Any tips on making that all important good first impression with a slave would be welcome.

Out of curiosity, what exactly have you tried?

Your profile pretty much reads "it's all about me" which isn't much of a sell to the person reading it. What it doesn't really say is what's in it for the slave other than the wondrous ability to serve you.

I'm going to go out on a limb and give you these links.  Although they're from the Ask A Mistress section, I'm fairly confident the information they provide is equally applicable to submissive women.

Beyond these things, I think I can safely say that submissive women are looking for the same things any other woman wants - compatible vanilla interests, values, life and relationship goals.  What those are will be different for each individual woman.  There's no formula, no secret handshake, and no single answer that will apply to everyone. 
 
Bottom line: Women want chemistry.

funny you should ask as I obtained one here (via Cmail and not the forums) and we're talking 24/7 real time in the house rather than play on-line or BDSM session girl. I'm pretty sure it was not the profile that made a difference because back then I highlighted I was Gorean and you know how that tends to scare off girls because, well, because they think it means you are a space cadet and are ready to move in to their house caring a "home stone" or something, and tammy was very negative toward Goreans at the time from early contact with one or two that could have gone better.

So, the real "hook" was an honest and very vanilla opening CMail contact that mentioned nothing about what I wanted but instead about my interests, hobbies, dating habits as far as food, dancing, movies and walks in the square on a warm summer night. It also expressed my real desire to know her interests in the vanilla world. You see, you have to capture her interest exactly the same way you would on Match.Com before going further. This is what works so abandon the "I'm an evil sadistic slave master" approach and take up the "I am a man really interested in you and here is why..." approach. No shortcuts here just because it is CM and not Match.com.

I go to walmart and pick them upon by the dozen. They are cheap there.

Your whole question reeks of insecurity. Be a man. That's it. Women are attracted to men not boys. I know this sounds a bit bitchy, but that is not my intention. It's been my experience, though, that once a person knows who s/he is, others are naturally attracted to them. So be the person that you are.

Welcome to Collarme, Mancipator. The best advice I can offer is to be more patient.
Granted, 3 days may seem like an eternity to some, but whats the hurry, really?
If you want quality over quantity, it's going to take a little patience on your end.

Ive been searching for years for a compatible partner, it takes a lot of time, it takes a lot of foundation building and trust it just takes a LOT in general. So be patient first off...

It took me 8 years to find the Master I was looking for, although I talked to many, many guys online and at munches, clubs etc. I met quite a few guys from cm and other sites for coffee, and that elusive 'spark' just wasn't there.

One of my criteria for believing someone to be real and true and honest was that his profile would be something that captured my interest and made me intrigued. Master's profile was one line long. I thought he was a player.

But he persisted in chatting to me in totally vanilla terms for several months before he caught me at a weak moment and I agreed to meet him for coffee.[:D]

It's been 6 months now, more or less, and I know I was right to wait. But the point of this story is that he was patient. He didn't talk kink unless I initiated it, and then in only very general terms. I knew the MAN long before I knew the MASTER.

To the people that took the tine to give honest, heart-felt advice I thank you.
To the people that made jokes I wish they did sell them in wallmart. Would be awesome. As for chocolate I think it might work well outside a school gate but I ain't even gonna go there! Haha cheers for the laugh though.

There is plenty of advice I plan to follow and yes I can see I was being rather impatient expecting a result in a few days but as I said the whole "online" thing is completely new to me (which I assume is why I sounded insecure I believe the message said) so have decided to just write stuff exactly how I'd say to you all in person.

well the only thing that worked for me was to go down to the fucking bus station and when a slave comes up to bum some change, you take her the fuck home and bathe, clothe and feed her.

works like a fucking charm for me.

Oh yes you need to put up a picture of youself even just a picture from your corset down past your skirt to your feet.

Just remember that a lot of what you read in here and other sites like this is fantasy and theatre, and that so-called slaves are still human beings, and in general, like to be treated as such. You'll have better chances of finding someone if you hang around, be likeable and reasonably articulate. Make some friends, have fun.....people will likely be more attracted to you and you can take it from there. [:)]

Be honest, open, understanding of their limitations.  Respect them, understand the possibilities and also understand they are human as well.

Enjoy yourself, enjoy them as you would enjoy yourself.  Be true to eachother.
