Did you know that you can get a compost unit for just $20? I just put mine together and it's all ready to start making compost for me.

These are the lovely compost bins that cost over $50 if you purchase them retail. For more information on them, visit www.ladwp.com

They have compost classes once a month, and there are two times a month to pick up the bins. Cash only though. You can buy worm bins also if you want those.

Both places sell bins. The first one has more expensive bins. ($40 each)

Some of the incorporated cities around Los Angeles proper will give you them for free, (for example, Burbank) as long as you can show residency.

I just toss mine in the garden.

Mine is literally a pile behind the house.  I keep a plastic pail on my kitchen counter to catch all organic stuff I don't want to eat like coffee grounds, eggshells, anything that should be crisp but is not saggy.
