I suspect that it is a glass eel swimming thousands of kilometers on its way to The Netherlands to grow fat and long in our fresh waters. It is the first one that I have ever seen.

My ex bro in law had some transparent fish that gave me the creeps bad.  This is 1000 times creepier!

here's some snazzy info on leptocephalus eel larvae -- it's not a glass eel; that's a stage between the leptocephalus stage and juvenile. this one is a leptocephalus (like the video says), because it's still flattened.
