Esquire goofs on a bunch of people that are trying to get rich for publishing a pack of lies and they get sued.

Frivolous.  In order to win the suit, they'd need to prove that the statements were false, that they were damaged by them, and that there was malice.The damage amounts are likely conjectural, and the rest is bogus.

Absence of malice ... the suit's got no legs. They're a magazine with a well-known and historically considered 'in good fun' reputation for satire. Won't hold the interest of a judge for more than 10 minutes once the frivolous suit motions begin.

Yeah, it's equivalent to Mad magazine molding Alfred E. Newman to your likeness and doing a feature skit on you.
