Does anyone know what an EOL party is? I was asked by a lesbian member but have no clue what that means.

Yeah, the only thing I've heard of EOL standing for is "End of life", as in end of life care for a terminally ill person. But I've never heard of an end of life party! It must stand for something else too.

My first thought was "eww", but then I thought, why not, and what a great idea. Why not have a party to celebrate your life before it comes to an end, instead of a maudlin funeral? I've always said, I want my family members and friends to have a party, have fun, laugh, not stand around and cry around my ashes and then fight over my stuff. Maybe I'll have an auction, with the winner of each item being the one who tells the best story about it. Hmmm...

My Father & his wife had just such a party thrown for them in the last year of Father's life. They gave me a video of it. It was great!!! And at his memorial after he died, we had a great time also, showing a video of his silliness & I told stories about him til they were rolling in the aisles. I don't understand nor approve of funerals where everyone is sad. Yeah I was sad that I wouldn't be able to sit & talk with him anymore, but the guy was hugely funny as well as brilliant. Why not celebrate his life & silliness???
