What a patient cat! Either of mine would have taken that bird out in a heartbeat.

dumb cat [8|]

Last night I sneaked spicy upstairs (can only do so when dad leaves early in the morning and so for sure doesnt find out) and spicy insisted to lie on the bedside table next to the other bed in my room....so he made damn sure no to have a rocky night with me [:D]

Needless to say, tonight I take curry and pepper with me...as they are somewhat more faithful in that respect [:)]

LinnaeaBorealis -> RE: what a cat does when you sleep (7/3/2011 4:23:28 PM)

Mr. Cat slept with me every night & he knew not to wake me unless it was time for me to get up for work. One night there was a fairly significant earthquake in the middle of the night & when I sat up to yell at him I found him sitting up & glaring at me! We looked at each other for a minute & both realized it was an earthquake at the same time & turned over & we both went back to sleep.

Currently, my cat is rather miffed, as she is on a dry food diet, but where she sleeps is in the middle of the floor with her paws tucked under. I watch her with one eye sometimes, but if she notices me awake, then it is the mewling meeow that does not let up for more food, ewhen she already has enough in her dish.

I expect the problem is her being an ex feral cat, two years I am told she was around about bein a pain in the ass to the neighbourhood with her penchant for bins and claw worthy bin bags.

I dont mind my cat climbing on me. I like it.

tj444 -> RE: what a cat does when you sleep (7/3/2011 5:18:43 PM)

I used to be a human pretzel. [8|]
My two cats had me wrapped around their little paws for their entire 16 & 17 years, one slept on the pillow above my head, me curled up in the fetal position curled up around the other cat (he liked my warm tummy). I didnt mind, of course. [:)]

Your cat does not want food per se.   She wants attention- to feel special.   Next time rattle her dish and talk to her.   Then ease off.   You cat wants to be verbal with you.  Run with it.   Coo and fuzz over her.   Cats love it- even if they look like they dont they love it.

KB sleeps with me, even in the summer.  He has taken over the pillows above my head......I sleep with 5, he manages to take up two.  Squeaks might occasionally join us, she's at the end of the bed.  In the winter, it's a different story.....Squeaks is under the covers by one leg, KB, Boo and Smooch are all snugged up against me, so I'm sleeping all bent up.  I finally gave up and got a king sized bed just so all of us, ok ME!, would have at least 6" to sleep on!

Mine tend to prowl around at night, KB the most.  Every so often, I'll hear something go CA-RASH!, but if there's no broken glass sound, then I just roll over and go back to sleep.  I learned a long time ago not to have drinking glasses of any kind, or food bowls on the counters, bnecause inevitably, someone will get a wild hair, run around frantically, jump on a counter and knock everything off.  Do you know how hard it is to bleach red koolaid out of floor grout???????

No, but I do know how hard it is to get Hawaiian punch out of beige carpet! Back when I lived in California, I opened a can of Hawaiian punch while I was eating breakfast, but didn't finish it. As I was stuck in traffic in my hour-long commute downtown, it dawned on my that I left that can out on the dining room table. But then I almost convinced myself that I had put it away. I went back and forth all day long as to what I had done with that can. Well, when I got home, there was my answer! My cat Amanda had gotten up up on the table, batted the can down, and the Hawaiian punch spilled all over the carpet. I must have used 20 different stain removers, but there was still a slight pink trace. I was going to replace the carpet, but didn't have to, as I lost the condo in the Northridge quake anway.

Then when we moved to Texas, the adventuresome Amanda got up on the bathroom counter. I had a spray bottle of tub and tile cleaner sitting on the counter. Of course, she had to bat that off onto the floor. Unfortunately, the cover wasn't on 100% securely, and a small section of carpet got bleached. I cover it up with an area rug to this day.

She crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge several years ago, and no other cat I've had since can compare. Amanda was in a league of her own when it came to damaging things and general brattiness. When people say one of my current cats is bad, I just laugh and say they are rank amateurs compared to Amanda.

animals can be so annoying. ^_^ hahaha
it's part of their charm. =p

i love how the pigeon is literally aiming for the cat's ear. =p

my dog likes to get in your face at 3 a.m. and shake his collar to rattle his tags. he'll literally stand there doing it until you get up. if you put him out, he won't go potty, so that's not what it is. i think he just wants someone to be awake when he's awake.
sometimes he's considerate enough to wait until 6. he did it last night, but alas, i got up at stupid o'clock in the morning on my own today. =p

erieangel -> RE: what a cat does when you sleep (7/19/2011 6:07:55 AM)

My cats sleep with in my bed. I've only got two and sometimes I end up on the sofa because they like to spread out so much. But if I force them out of my bedroom and close the door, all I hear all night long is their little paws trying to get the door open, and they've actually managed to do that a few times. It isn't very difficult with pocket doors.

ChatteParfaitt -> RE: what a cat does when you sleep (7/19/2011 6:20:01 AM)

What do my cats do while I sleep? Use me as a feline mattress and playground, of course !!

That's when they are not trying to wake "the help" up. Cats need staff, doncha know, to attend to their furry needs.
