i've heard about it but i really don't know the details. does anyone know exactly what tantric flogging is and how it's done?

Did you bother to look at what comes up? Mainly ads for a band called that. And the rest are announcements of workshops. No explanation or videos appear. Now I'm curious too. Does anyone have a real answer?

If someone's flogging me, I don't want them in a tantric state, I'd prefer that they're alert and in the present.

I can't tell you "exactly" what it is ( then I'd have to kill you [;)] ) but I can give you some resources that might help or at least point you in a possible direction: Urban Tantra: Sacred Sex for the 21st Century by Barbara Carrellas I've attended a couple of workshops put on by Barbara, who is VERY bdsm-d/s friendly, and found her book to be a wonderful beginners resource for exploring tantra as a means to enhance physical experiences. Tantra for Erotic Empowerment: The Key to Enriching Your Sexual Life by Mark Michaels and Patricia Johnson This is another beginners book I've heard mentioned...but, this one I have yet to read. You'll notice, most of the modern resources for tantra are sexual in nature and rarely explore the spiritual aspect of the practice. I admit I'm guilty of leading with my base desires when it comes to tantra. That hasn't lessened the experience, though. Also....Fet has a Tantra group you might want to check out. I have no shortcut to Tantra - everything I know comes from years of being around yogis and yoginis and reading more traditional (aka not sex focused) works on Tantra. I do have Urban Tantra: Sacred Sex for the 21st Century by Barbara Carrellas but never got past the BDSM chapter. Would love to hook up with a kinky yogi - sending that intention out to the universe... I do use yogic breathing techniques during a Scene and often reach an altered state, so perhaps I am farther along than I think.
