As a teen, my family lived off an airbase.  On the 4th I used to sit on the roof that was put up by Mexican workers and listen to  British New Wave music on a Walkman imported from Japan- all by watching the local fireworks display.

What Do You Miss?

Maybe the expeditions to the West Side Highway or FDR Drive to watch the Macy's fireworks, but those are more fond memories.

This year I watched fireworks displays on three different days (including July 4) in the company of some great people.  It's been one of the more memorable Independence Day holidays.

Being on our beach house porch down the Jersey shore(Cape May Co.), watching our neighbors setting off fireworks for miles in either direction.

After the show, the cops blocked off the exits and wouldn't let anybody leave the parking lot. The local store brought in a semi full of beer to sell. God damn! That was a fucking party!! Deadheads, beer, bongs, bonfires, fireworks & trips galore...doesn't get any better than that, man, it just fucking doesn't!!!

Don't mind WillBe... If ya never went, you simply have no iota of a clue.
That was perhaps the best east coast lot party ever on the tour.
My little brother's theatre crew from URI brought a movie projector, the dead movie and 4 bed sheets sewn together and down in the back of the big field across the street we had a drive-in movie.
