I say purposefully direct the National Guard to detain illegals. Let Mexico sue us in our courts. They're going to be sorely disappointed to find it's difficult to sue over the organized militia being used for militia purposes.

How dare we enforce our laws and our border!

Really, Mexico deports more people a year than we do, and under their legal system, it's a felony to be an illegal.  Heck, according to the same laws, you have to be a contributeing memeber of society, and the government has a right to track you.  Even sweeter, if you're caught trying to re-enter the country after being deported, there's a ten year prison (not probation, like pound me in the buns prison) sentance in it for you.  Not to mention if you marry someone who's an illegal (but you're a legal citizen), you could be charged with a crime that carries a five year sentance.

I really don't think Mexico has the right to tell us to lighten up on the same crimes that they take so seriously.

How can Mexico sue us for enforcing our laws? What right does Mexico have in the US courts to question our immigration policies? And what gives Mexico any right to bring a suit in US court? Inquiring minds want to know.

When I see stories like that, I think of them as Psyops, which are designed to sensationalize something and lend it credibility, when it has zero credibility in the first place.

The Bush speech and anything he's proposed regarding the border, is an utter joke to anyone who's really paid attention. However when folks who only half-ass pay attention read a story like that, they think he's actually making some progress.

Nothing short of severely punishing people/corporations for hiring illegal aliens will resolve the problem. Not a wall or any amount of National Guard troops will work.
Now if you really wanted to get tough.... you could pass a law which says anyone caught hiring illegal aliens would automatically spend ninety days in GITMO for their first offense.

And to carry that a step further.......since the illegals are not paying taxes.....lets not let them send their children to our tax funded schools or get ANY medical care on our tax funded programmes.....

Here's a way to stop the ilegals from coming over...

First you take the illegality away from crossing the border

Then you make it a crime to hire anyone that does not possess a work visa

Then you hang anyone that hires an illegal for treason since they are the ones profitting from the illegal immigrants...they should pay the penalty

I know that will not happen because the people hiring the illegals are the same people that can afford lobyists and to have contact with their congress people. We the people fund their low cost labor force and then blame people looking for a better life that are coming here... It seems to me we have lost our humanity, but then again I am sick of ugly americans (and yes I am one dammit... but not very proud of it when I see the lack of critical thinking in this country)

Lots of Americans do not pay taxes either, so I guess we should have their children grow up to be ignorant an illiterate too? Perhaps next time you go to the bank or the store and the cashier does not know how to make change you will understand why it is important to educate all the people (even the kids here illegally) and not just the richer ones. You see public education is about society at large, not the amount of tax you pay. Personally I do not want any child to go without food, medical care, or an education, we have way too many illiterate nonthinking people here as it is...

and also BTW people that do pay taxes and do not have kids, you are playing this society back for the education you have already received, and not for your kids education.

I cannot imagine Mexico being able to bring a legal suit against the United States in our own courts regarding the enforcement of our own imigration laws and boarders.  In regards to higher concentration of police/military presence prompting mexicans to attempt to cross in more perilous places and increasing deaths, well, i hate to sound cold, but, so be it.

There's a lengthy quote from another thread made by  a MasterRenegade, i'll simply enclose the link
RE: ARE WE BEING HARD ON ILLEGAL ALIENS ?

This indeed scared the pants off of me and i think every american citizen needs to make their "We the poeple " voices be heard to enact some changes.

I'm not a staunch believer in the "They do the jobs  that american won't" but if that be the case then allow the projected amount of immigrants needed to perform these jobs, but perform them legally like americans do. Mandatory citizenship process,  or, temporary enforced work visas for seasonal jobs, learning the english language, paying taxes etc etc.

One post  mentioned our tax based programs,(schools, medical programs)  and i'm a little confused that they are allowed to be used with no personal documentation.  My children are american born...by american born parents, any time i had to enroll them in  a new school, i had to have identification for myself...and for them, birth certificates SS #'s, shot records,   I still have one in school and these requirements haven't changed to my knowledge.
Is this just something else that is not being enforced?
