I was born during the Reagan presidency ('83) so I'm too young to really know anything about him. The only things that come to mind about Reagan for me are that he secretly illegally sold weapons to Iran, funded Nicaraguan terrorists, and tripled the national debt.

I'm like, not even being facetious. Oh and stuff about "welfare queens" and "Reaganomics" as buzzwords but really, studying him historically as opposed to remembering having lived through his Presidency...it's mostly just Iran-Contra and national debt that's associated with him.

What specifically made him a great President in your eyes?

British Subject
Like Reagan

his daddy is or was!

I dont think I ever seen him salute the flag or put his hand over his heart at the national anthem.

Billy butt hayd was knighted you know withing weeks after he was out of office!

So how do you know he is not s brit subject, I would lay odds he most certainly is but not to worry it will be disclosed 50 years from now just in time before we die to show us what damnable fools we are

Salutes our special ally Britain and promises we'll get a real president soon! I know the location they did that... I was there a few days ago.

Most British people prefer Obama to Bush. Even the right here wont forget the WMD lies which led to the Iraq and allowed the Taliban time to regroup.

Stern, according to press reports here, the statue was paid for by private individuals, as was the one for Marx.

Thatcher’s tongue to be added to arse of Reagan statue
A statue of Ronald Reagan has been unveiled in London despite the fact it’s missing a key element – Margaret Thatcher’s arse-licking tongue.
The effigy of Reagan, carved from wood in honour of his acting career, has a gaping hole in it’s rear where the tongue should be.
But the statue has been scheduled for unveiling on July 4 for months and the US embassy said, in true Hollywood style, ‘the show must go on’ despite problems casting a mould inside Thatcher’s inhospitable mouth.
Thatcher – who is wanted for crimes against humanity perpetrated in the 1980s – has been invited to take part in the ceremony.

Margaret Thatcher was too frail to attend the unveiling of a statue of her fellow former premier Ronald Reagan in Central London yesterday.

The ex-Prime Minster, 85, had been expected at the US embassy for the ceremony in honour of her friend, who was President from 1981 to 1989.

Foreign Secretary William Hague was there to speak on her behalf after she pulled out because of ill health.

Lady Thatcher lives nearby in London but is rarely seen out.

US officials were “disappointed” at the no-show by the former Tory leader, PM from 1979 to 1990.

Ok I over exaggerated a bit, but when I saw AZBM praising a communist country filled with socialists, the stoopidity factor just got to Ironic for me

If it wasn't the terrorist funding and debt hiking, maybe it was bombing Libya?
(Oh wait, the Kenyan is doing that, and he's an evil Marxist Nazi. Can't be that, then...)

"Ketchup is a vegetable,"? The SDI? (Maybe Sanity's an SF fan and was pleased to see defense contractors and NASA being placed at the disposal of three science fiction writers.) Misprisioning a Springsteen song?

Ah, Ronald Wilson Reagan, such fond memories of my youth;

Part 1, The Early years

The Early years Part 2

You have to sign in for part 3- mature viewing no less

Part 4 the Star Wars years

Final Part - Farewell Ronnie

and not forgetting his favourite ass rimmer

Ah such education, and an education which undoubtedly influenced much of my thoughts as towards politics.

He was a marginal 'B' movie actor who only played a president,on TV.

My favorite RR stunt: him claiming to have helped liberate nazi concentration camps at the end of WW II.

That`s about as wrong as it gets.

Satire, the perfect way to educate and it has the habit of making those far away leaders seem a little more less austere;

As someone who lived my childhood through his presidency, this sums up my memory... but add one, starting the most expensive and failed war in US History.... the War on Drugs

I'm astounded that he got away with that, given that he spent the war reading baseball scores.

Happy 100th, Ronald Reagan!

quote:

Britain Holds Tribute to President Ronald Reagan

Former president Reagan will stand alongside other celebrated US heads of state such as Franklin D. Roosevelt and Dwight D. Eisenhower and was considered important enough for Westminster City Council to break its rule specifying that ten years must pass after a subject's death before they can be immortalized in statue form.

after a subject's subject's subject's subject's subject's subject's subject's subject's subject's subject's subject's death

thank you thank you fucking thank you for that!

BULLSEYE!  BODDA BOOM!

LUV IT!

Feast your eyes on this hunk!

They dont even hide it and how many posts and no one but Mmuah noticed!   LMAO!

The subject of the painting, the subject of the statue. The subject is the item featured in the art.

Tazzy, this was a little mean (I'm no Reaganophile and live less than 60 miles from where he was born).

The only way Reagan looks good is when he is compared to his predecessor.

He wasn't that good.  It's just that Carter SUCKED.
