The tone of this thread is pretty radical. Let's tone it down and put an end to the name calling.

Thank you

Ello!

Sincere advice from another person who writes for a living..

Don't get pics, and don't overdescribe, let the reader's imagination fill in the blanks.

In the story, is the young female protagonist a chubby-chaser by any chance?

Yeah, less detail has been a common suggestion. I must admit to being surprised by that.

And no, she's not. She actually finds it humiliating, which is part of the appeal for her.

First of all, I want to say that I'm not a writer, I'm just a beginning hobbiest wannabe.

I think the idea is to provide just enough detail to create a sketch, which the reader than can then fill in with their imagination. Somebody mentioned Lord of the Rings earlier in the thread. that's a good example, because most of us have read it. Go back and reread the way the various characters are described. Most of the main characters are not vividly described, or are described through the interaction of the characters themselves <Gollum calling Sam a "fat hobbit", for example>. Other than that sort of thing, they are left only outlined.

I think the idea is to provide as few unnecessary details as possible. give only what is needed for the plot and for flavour. As an example, lets say your bratty sub has an oddly shaped mole on her upper arm. If it plays no part in the story, then there's no need to mention it or even invent it. But if it does play a part in the story, say identifying her to somebody, then it's important to mention it before it becomes important. That way the reader says "Oh yeah, the mole on her arm!", rather than "What mole?"

Do you see what I'm getting at?

Hopefully one of the experienced professional writers on here will come alomng and correct me if I'm mistaken, but that's how I understand it.

Oh cool, I can totally dig that. But to be clear... there is a fattie in the story, right?

<<< Experienced, professional writer.

Yes, you are a fucking writer.  You won a contest ffs.  Silly girl.

to the OP:
You've had responses and suggestions for at least 3 professional writers.  You may feel free to ignore us.  But really, you need to shut up and write already.

ML - I'm gonna smother you with my boobs... or a pillow.  I haven't decided.

If a 4th may chime in, what everybody said and take a step back and let the story unfold like a movie and then you will get the face and the look, or you could go for the mysterious approach and not even go into detail but just go with "eyes widening, mouth curling up..." It's not a bad way to draw a picture without drawing one and having people projecting their own imagination on the character...

I actually prefer less description, I like it if the writer trusts me, as the reader, to fill in the blanks.  It makes the story more personal to me.

I hope that makes some degree of sense.

I prefer less as well because i prefer to make the characters hot IN MY MIND as opposed to hot in the author's mind. I hate it when he or she wont let me make the character into what i want

I prefer just the barest outlines be drawn, so I can break out the mental crayolas and colour away to my heart's content.
