I like the part where Sheriff Mark Luttrell states, "situations like require extreme good judgment."

If that's a situation that requires extreme good judgment, it's amazing that the average guy can avoid shitting in his pants.

Similar thing happened here. It is illegal to drive on the roadway while using the vehicles "emergency flashers". The woman driver was taking her husband to the hospital with a heart attack. She had her emergency flashers on. The local officer held her outside of the ER and wrote a ticket for the flashers, speeding and failing to stop 1/4 mile from the hospital when he got behind her with his "blue lights" on, and checked her drivers license and registration and manditory insurance, all while her husband was taken into the ER. She was not allowed to go in and advise the ER staff of the onset of his condition or his medical history or anything else.
Officer claimed he went going easy on her by simply citing her and not arresting her for not stopping when she should have.

As noted, this happened 2 years ago. The deputy, Micah McNinch, got a 1 day suspension for using 'bad judgment'.
ETA- Ables sued, but the lawsuit was dismissed in July 2010.

Beware the word Officers as to what does it mean, protector of the people or upholders of the policy ?

Anyway, I much prefer orificer, and you can get away with it, been there done that, and cuntstable.
