Imagine your daughter is kidnapped and you and your family is absolutely terrified and numb,sick with a boulder sized lump in their throats.

Every minute of the day is panic mode.Every ring of the telephone makes your heart sink.You`re in constant touch with police and every other person you can think of that might help.

Then you find out there is a news outlet that had hacked into your daughters cellphone, causing you to wrongly believe she was still alive – fucking up the police investigation into her disappearance by deleting her cell phone messages.

You find out that NewsCorp hacked into your kid`s phone to gain scoops and exploit information gotten, for super sexy news stories that really sell papers.

You then find out that NewsCorp has been paying police for info,to exploit for higher ratings and more profits.

You find out that it`s been going on for years.Millions of pounds payed in hush money.

What would say to an American who wondered if it`s possible that NewsCorp is doing those same repugnant types of things here, in America?

They cancelled Firefly after half a season?

In your case I would be more worried what the Canadian government was doing along those lines then what FOX might be up to in the US, The RCMP are some dogs when it comes to spying on those not liked by Ottawa.

Besides here our paparazzi have been caught with everything for parabolic mics to remote controlled airplanes, and know whats good for them when caught in such cases, to pay off the victim and plead out to a misdemeanor.

And with the separate police forces in every little town bribery to secure private information is fraught with trouble, never mind getting caught at it, as was that police chief back in Ohio who was busted for spying  for our tabloids.

Canada likely is little better for this conduct by private people and investigators doing this spying , while the jail time would not be a long, the chances of being caught at it are equally as good, or better. A Canadian cop caught at it for money would become a laborer.

I think Murdoch has his own separate bag of tricks for North America. Paying intimate associates and employees and other insiders is likely more the style here.
