Termyn8or -> Search function question (7/11/2011 12:44:15 PM)

The first question I found my own answer. It was how to search for my own posts. I was pondering just how to send myself a Cmail so I could hit the view forum posts button. But I couldn't find a way to send myself a mail. I wouldn't make a habit out of it, but I do it out on the web once in a while so I can get to certain things from other locations.

However having traversed that little hurdle by simply viewing my own profile, I hit the button. I was looking for a post in humor, could've been up to two years ago. There was a picture in it and it's not on this PC. I wanted to use the picture again somewhere else. But I couldn't find it. I figure it would be better to just copy it rather than reupload it anyway, especially since I have to retrieve the file off another hard drive first.

So does it not show up because the Humor section got changed ? Maybe I'm doing something wrong here, or are a bunch of posts gone or rendered unsearchable ?

Just wondering.

There's about 12 different ways to see your own profile without sending yourself a cmail, I was going to list them, but nah....here...

Term.

Dude, do it from the PM on your posts, or go look up your profile on the main page and send yourself cmail.

It is stupid easy to do.

Unfortunately going through one's profile only brings up the last 50 posts. At least that's all I've ever been able to get that way. So when I wanted older posts, I searched for myself using the search function on the right hand side of the page here.

Click on the "SEARCH" link on the top right section of a thread's page.

Leave the search term box blank.

Put your own screen name in the "by Author" box.

If you want to look for posts older than 300, refine the search by topic, etc.

Extension of Mar2bs post:

Say for instance you are fairly certain that you used 'blowjob', for example in the post somewhere, and you think it was in Politics and Religion, you should click that to get at some others you can't normally get at.

I gotta do that alla time.
