There is always a move underway for DC statehood, or representation in congress (which is what they really want), but it aint gonna happen without a huge change to the constitution, even if they give them representation, it is federally administered, they call the shots, and are not beholden to any state in that regard. You wouldn't want Governor Quigley out there arresting the lawless republican goons and thugs, just cuz they're fuckin stupid, it ain't a crime yet.

I think CA was trying to do this years ago. At that time they were trying to split it into thirds. More states means more politicians. We have to many now.

Texas should secede from the United States, take back all land that was once part of the Republic of Texas, give the Bush Family back to Massachusetts and confiscate all property of the US government in presently inside the former borders of the Republic, then declare war on the US, surrender after 1 day and let the US go bankrupt rebuilding our economy. Of course that makes about as much sense as splitting California. Please note the sarcasm.
