Who likes floggers?

Stingy or thuddy?

Bunny, deerskin, cowhide, elk, moose, buffalo/bison, bullhide, latigo?  Rope, horsehair, rubber, chain?

Generally, I really LOVE a big, heavy elk-skin flogger; it’s like a deep tissue massage to me.  Having said that, I also enjoy (when properly warmed up) a smaller flogger made of some sort of floor matting…which will cut a body if not used carefully.  I have a ‘Joy Wand’ that a friend made for me which consists of 3 latigo ‘laces’ held within one end of a wooden handle.  That thing BITES!

And…I’ve had my pussy whipped with a small, rather lightweight chain-mail flogger.  OMG!  I leaned into it!  Sheeshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I no longer use horsehair as I understand the hairs are hollow and break off in the skin while the other end will hold the bit of blood it picks up.

Other ideas?  Other materials?  Favorites?   [8D]

My dream pair of floggers is medium length, medium weight, pink and white buttery elkskin.  For my height/power level, medium weight and length is the perfect for versatility and usage.

But I like chain floggers for extra sensations and electric play.  And I like small bunny ones for the fun and novices.  And I like rubber for the sting.  And I like the rose ended ones for the romance and the thud.  And I like the ones with the hard sharp nubs and ends for added sting and scratch mixed in with the thud.

To use on someone else, I like the latigo cat, to have used on me, I like the buffalo the best.

My favorite is my rope cat of nine tails. It is already marked with my blood, and is therefore an "on me only" weapon.

My favorite to use on someone else: any and all I have in my collection.

Hard sharp nubs?  Metal?  Wrapped in a knot at the end of the fall?  or...just a knot in the leather itself?  Wow!

I like both sensations equally, it also depends on how hard He is weilding it.  *S*   I love His latigo leather flogger, the thing is a beast. It can break skin quickly and leave some incredible bruises.
We were walking through a hardware store once and I made the mistake of  going "oh, hey this could be neat" over some plastic chain links.... A chain flogger was born and it's wicked.
The cat is also nice and makes me think of pirates .
The flogger is actually one of my favorite  toys, well outside of hands and feet that is *g*

I like variety... I like build up.

I don't like bright colors -- give me classic black and white or natural leather please.

My favorite to use is a silk rope flogger that my wife braided herself before she started topping. Love the feel and weight of it, but since it was made by her for her I never get to use it. We have an elk hide one one out of cowhide and a rubber one that is just plain mean...

I have a lanyard one I made because I have heard of the sting it can provide that is a rainbow. That's it. It is supposed to deliver a powerful sting. In appearance, I have to say it is the ugliest thing ever. I might see about dying it if I can, which may be impossible to do.

Most of my stuff is homemade. I have also made a 15 tailed suede flogger, a 32 tailed suede, a four tailed knotted leather thing (had 2 leather strands and a stick laying around the house one day), a knotted cat of nine (mentioned above), a singletail whip based on a Russian design called the knout.

Dear Bearlee, Ladies and Gentlemen;
 
I do have a very nice collection of ToyBag's floggers.  With the handles made of wood, it does not snag my lace gloves should I wear them and are made in such a way, I can handle three floggers in each hand, making a total of six in air and applied.  It makes a wonderful 'mop.'
 
I do have bunny, deer suede, cow suede, deer, elk, lamb, moose, light cow, hard cow, bull, bull narrow tails, rubber, neubuck, goat and so much more.  I do have cat-o-nine tails, which are made by Montague (no longer in business), rubber barbwire flail, three chain floggers --ball chain, jewelry chain and bike chain flail.  I think the most sentimental flogger, is the one that Leather "Bob" Grimes made for me. [Note: He is listed in the back of Screw the Roses-Give me the thorns but, at a different address now] He still vends at The Crucible.  I also am pleased with DeTails' leather rose ended flails.  It feels like little fists banging on the back, with a very light stroke.
 
I really do not have a 'favorite,' as I use floggers for individuals that I work with.
 
I can take one flogger and get several sensations out of it.  By twisting the tails like an old coke bottle, it will make a deer flogger feel like a bull.  One can pull back a section of tail and hold it under the hand out of the way, as to give another sensation; e.g. 1/4, 1/3, 1/2, 3/4 tails applied giving different sensations.  In addition, can remove all but 2-9 giving totally different sensations.  And, can leave all but one, making a technical 'single tail.'
 
Spritzing the person's back with water, it creates an entirely different sensation.  I prefer using a rubber flogger for such as to ease cleaning.
In addition, one can apply a favorite liniment and apply to the back and flog for a wonderful warm to hot flogging, without the flames and or risks of "fire flogging."

by far I love the heavy thuddy buffalo flogger. yummy...it is my favorite piece of dungeon equiptment of all time followed only by vampire gloves.

My favorite flogger is horsehair, though I don't think he has used a flogger on me yet that I didn't like.  With the horsehair, he can't hit me hard enough, the harder the better.  I want to get a heavier one and try that. 

My favorite way that he uses a flogger is to snap it, much like you do a towel, and catch me with just the tips.  Do it just right with enough force behind it and it drops me to my knees.  Of course he likes to build the anticipation and deliberately miss sometimes.  I never know when it will hit.  He will also take two floggers in one hand and they hit one right after another.  I really like that sensation.

I start with a black suede flogger as a warm up and its a very nice medium size and weight. I have a braided cat with rounded tails thats purple and black, lots of sting and really reddens the skin pretty too. But that one can cut if your not careful. I have a nice small rubber one for cock/balls/tits  and it works great on the thighs too.

Definitely prefer thud.

Master has one - not sure what type of leather - but it is a blend of thin and thick strands.  Black and red.  It gives a thud from the thick ones and a snapping crack from the thinner ones.  The very first time he used this on me, I turned my head around to look at him and said "ohhhh I LIKE this one!!!"  He laughed.  Until then, his more typically used flogger hurt like a mother.  This newer one is delicious. 

He has a silk rope flogger as well.  Lands with a thud but so soft on the skin.  And if cracked like a towel it creates a nice sting.

My Dom made four floggers. One out of deer, one out of suede, one from rabbit and the other is a leather cat-o-nine. I love them all and will not choose. [;)]

I love floggers. While they are no longer my favorite toy (replaced by the cane and the crop), I do still love them. :) My favorites are elk, cow, and rubber. However, the top MUST know how to wield the damn thing. I had a really crappy experience with a top who decided to flog me (he wanted to do canes and I wasn't ready at the time-go figure) so he thudded me over and over and OVER in the same spot. It was horrid. I wanted to turn around and say LET ME SHOW YOU HOW TO WORK THAT THING DAMNIT! Heh.

A good craftsman can make almost any flogger thuddy or stingy by variations in technique. 

I have a 40 strand deerskin that is good for all but the true pain sluts.  Try using it on a painslut and you will wear yourself out.

My favorite has a core of suede strands with the  outer wraps of strands being latigo.  It can be thuddy or sting like a b____, or both.  Snapping it so just the tips of the slightly longer latigo strands make contact will bring even the hardest painslut onto their toes.
