I acquired a very nice set of old-fashioned cast-iron locks with keys. I don't have a need for them now, and was going to gift them to my friend who is a very devout 24/7 slave. Not MY slave, note. She is not owned, either. She suggested to me that it probably wasn't proper for a slave to own such a thing. I didn't really think about it at first, but I suppose if she feels that way, then it must be true. What is a good gift for a female slave that is not your slave?

Why does it have to be a gift that's appropriate for a slave? If you want to give her a gift, make it something you would give to a friend and take the slave part of the equation out of it.

I'd personally love that as a present because I find locks beautiful. As already suggested, why do you have to consider their orientation in gift giving? Find something you think they'd like irrespective of that, no?

is her entire identity wrapped up in what's proper for her idea of what a slave is? does she have hobbies or things she cares about that don't revolve around that? she's a friend, right? how do you choose gifts for other non-slave friends? pick something they've talked about in passing, or something they might be interested in, or something that reminds you of them, blah blah blah re: what's "proper" for a slave to have -- her opinion is only true FOR HER, no matter how "devout" she claims to be. =p

Gee, I can't imagine why she wouldn't want your ex's cast off irons. Did you wrap them in her leftover underwear as well? What does this friend enjoy? Cooking? Then get her a cookbook by a chef she admires. Going out to eat? Then get her a gift certificate to a restaurant she might enjoy trying. It's not about how she relates when in a relationship, which she isn't in anyway at the moment. It's about what kind of things she likes. And if you can't remember her ever telling you what she does or doesn't like, then you're not much of a friend.

Well it's just what I had and decided I would give them to her, but alas. I was really just curious if there was such an item. I could probably stick to building her a set of rather expensive "steampunk speakers" she requested. That'll have to wait till I get home in November.

Why did she feel the gift "wasn't proper for a slave to own"? Why would this be "true" in general simply because she "feels that way"? Why are you focusing on the fact that she identifies as a slave more than the fact that you call her a friend?

well if it was me.... a full body massage a nice dinner out or someone making me a nice dinner a trip to somewhere taking me shopping for whatever I want money cleaning my apartment getting my business suits drycleaned mending a few shirts with missing buttons give me time...I know I can come up with more....
