I am at my happiest on gray and rainy days. Sunshine makes me tired.

Sorry.

I like the rain, too, but ffs can it please stop!  We've had rain every day for weeks!  I'm so sick of my clothes being damp.  Blech!

I just discovered there's a name for the amazing smell after rain: 'petrichor': it doesn't do the sensation justice.

NO. It will go Ten days without rain, then when I do a 400 mile motorcycle ride, it wants to rain, lol. Got stuck twice this year. Lake George NY. in early June and New River Gorge West VA. at the end of June. When I go to Ohio next week, I want no rain.

I love the rain. I love the smell of that first rain as it's dampening down the dust that's accumulated. I love the sound of it. I love splashing in puddles & getting soaking wet so I have to come in the house & put my clothes in the dryer & towel off.

I even used to love riding my motorcycle in the rain. One time, my daughter & I were crossing Snoqualmie Pass IN WA state & decided to stop for lunch on top. We squished into the restroom & took our boots off & dumped a couple of gallons of water out of them into the toilets. lmao!! Ahhhh, the good old days.....

I woke up this morning and it was raining. It's quite mild temperature-wise, but the rain is pretty torrential. So I put on my jacket, got my little dogs and we've just spent an hour walking through fields and woodland in the pouring rain.

I towel-dried the dogs, towel-dried me and I'm now sitting in the warmth with a huge mug of steaming coffee, listening to the rain bouncing off the windows. The mutts are curled up on the rug together, tired out and sleepy now.

I'm happy.

Spike the Amazing Wonder Dog was feral when he was rescued & I adopted him. He was terrified of pretty much everything, including towels for drying him off after walks in the rain. I was so happy the day that he allowed me to use the towel on him. I had to make it a game & he would run over, get rubbed with the towel, then run around the room in delight & come back for a rub with the towel. I can see him in my head while I'm writing this. Thank you for the memory!!

I don't like the rain so much when it's in progress, and I like it
even less if I'm driving across the bridge in it. Yikes!
I love it after it rains the most, especially when it cools
down a sweltering summer day.

Want to know the best way to make it rain?
Wash your car. [8|]

interesting word though ^_^

etrichor (PET-ri-kuhr) noun The pleasant smell that accompanies the first rain after a dry spell. [From petro- (rock), from Greek petros (stone) + ichor (the fluid that is supposed to flow in the veins of the gods in Greek mythology). Coined by researchers I.J. Bear and R.G. Thomas.] "Petrichor, the name for the smell of rain on dry ground, is from oils given off by vegetation, absorbed onto neighboring surfaces, and released into the air after a first rain." I like any weather....as quite frankly the weather is never wrong, if there is something wrong, then potentially the clothes we chose to wear....but any weather is fine to me [:)]
