I know what you mean about microwaves. I only use them for heating up or cooking meals specially designed for them. I sometimes just use the conventional oven in my combi microwave for small items.

The output is mainly infrared so it doesn't necessarily have to heat the air. Some stovetops use something similar. Speaking of stovetops, I have this electromagnetic induction stovetop. Never could use it though becaue it only works well on cast iron pots and pans. The main selling point of them was you could have a pot boiling violently on top, remove it and immediately touch the surface and not get burned. Anyway, I've found microwaves vary in quality. In some, all you want is to reheat coffee or maybe soup. To nuke pizza or anything like that you need a better one. I got my Mother one many years ago and did some pizza in it and could not believe how good it came out. That was an expensive oven though. Not a convection or a combo, just a microwave. I don't know what the difference is in the design, but there is something. T^T

I'd say my 21,5 inch LCD and my 1 TB external hard drive. Solved all my problems of hard drive space, and I can store hundreds of episodes of shows to watch, taken directly from the net. Tony A.K.A - Your friendly (pretentious ) neighbourhood silver tongue devil .

My paternal grandmother was trying to cook a chicken in one. It happened when I was a kid so I don't remember if there was a cause determined. Fountain pen fan, eh? I wouldn't diss ballpoints too hard, though, as writing with a fountain pen can be an utter pig for southpaws.
