In a few weeks I'm going to Africa. I can't wait! I'll be visiting Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Cape Town.

Is anyone here familiar with Cape Town? Is there any kind of a scene there? Are the people open to 'diffrent ideas' concerning sex? Or is it more Puritancial?

I don't know specifics but you'll probably have a better chance in Cape Town than just about any other South African city. It's recognized as being the most "English" city in the country that's mostly Boer in outlook... and the Boer outlook on sex makes the Baptist look positively hedonistic.

Do not have sex in Africa. Even with full body condoms. It has almost a 50% aids rate.

I lived in Johannesburg for over a year and you would be well advised not to meet with strangers or to have any form of sexual activity with anyone you meet there.

It is definitely not safe on at least 1000 different levels. You will see what I mean when you get there. I don't care whether you meet millionaires at Table Mountain or someone in the Townships, JUST DON'T DO IT.

Avoid, Guinea-Bissau, Mauritania,Chad,Niger,Central African Republic, unless you either want to buy a Slave or be owned as property.

I know that when I donate blood every 56 days... I am asked to answer whether I've been to Africa in the past __years. They ask this question because of the AIDS epidemic AND because of the insects that can bite you throughout the continent. I hope that you went to your Dr to receive the appropriate innoculations.

My ex-husband was on an archiological dig in Eritrea (northern country on the continent) years back and had MANY injections in the US before being allowed to enter the country.

Enjoy the "scene" here in the States, you are NOT safe exploring it in Africa.

Hi Annie,

I live in Cape Town, and used to be one of the munch organisers here.
The hetero public community is very small and meet once a month.
You are not missing much as most are newbies trying hard to build
a community but Cape Tonians are funny. Very clicky, upperclassy
in outlook and even thinking of going into public with this lifestyle
would be considered dodgy. Its not easy breaking that frame.

The private BDSM community here is significant though but the
"nice clean upper classy" people travel in very private circles and
unless you know people who know people who know people...
You get what I am saying.

If you have been here already, too bad I missed you. If you are
still on your way, please feel free to chat, ask questions, whatever.
